♥️ Do you remember your first period? ♥️

Did somebody celebrate you?

Did the women in your life gather around you and tell you that something extraordinary was happening?

Did anyone tell you that your changing body was wise, powerful and nothing to be ashamed of?

The chances are, this was not your experience.

The stories of the vast majority of women I meet range from, at the better end, being handed a packet of pads, told briefly what to do, and then quietly introduced to a life of shoving sanitary items up your sleeve to hide them on the way to the toilet, to at the worse end being shamed, punished and told you were dirty, and feeling you were an evil outcast.

I keep thinking about how differently we could do this for the next generation….

Menarche - a girl's first bleed - is one of the great thresholds of her life.

In ancient times, this threshold into womanhood was revered and celebrated.

And yet we've turned it into something embarrassing, inconvenient, and something to manage quietly so nobody knows. Thanks, patriarchy!

I want to change that.

🌹The Red Thread - A Menarche Rite of Passage🌹

A beautiful, intimate ceremony created around one special girl as she begins this new chapter of her life as a young woman.

We gather together as Mums, grandmothers, aunties, sisters, guardians, friends - we gather together as the women who love her and the women who came before her.

We share stories and wisdom. We talk openly about periods, bodies and cycles. We laugh. We create. We honour the generations of women who came before her.

And we celebrate her as she steps over this threshold from girlhood to womanhood in a beautiful ceremony.

There will be flowers, cake, gifts, beautiful and bespoke - tailored to all the things she loves.

There will definitely be no shame.

Because imagine entering your menstrual years with the message:

Your body isn't dirty.
Your blood isn't shameful.

You don’t have to hide, and you don’t have to be embarrassed.

Your womb and your menstrual cycle is full of power and wisdom.
You are changing, and that change is worthy of being witnessed and celebrated.

Just imagine the power of entering womanhood with the message that you are amazing and powerful, rather than shameful, dirty and embarrassing….

Alongside private ceremonies, I also offer small Mother & Daughter Menarche Circles for girls approaching or beginning their menstrual years — part practical wisdom, part creativity, part ceremony and a lot of celebration. Perhaps a beautiful idea for a group of girlfriends to do together.

Deep breathes let it alllll go . Visualise anything that no longer serves you leaving your body, going into the ground, for Mother Earth to compost.

Deeeeep breathes and release.

Things I WON’T tell you in a tarot reading…

After more than 20 years of reading tarot and oracle cards, there are a few things I feel pretty strongly about.

I won’t tell you that your future is fixed.

I won’t make your decisions for you.

I won’t use scary-looking cards to frighten you.

And I won’t ask you to hand your power over to me — or to the cards.

Because for me, an intuitive tarot reading isn’t about predicting your future, or about someone else having all the answers to your life.

Tarot can illuminate what you can’t quite see from where you’re standing. It can uncover patterns, possibilities and perspectives. It can help you hear the quiet voice of your own intuition underneath all the noise.

Whether you come to the cards with one very specific question, navigating a situation or decision, or you’re standing at one of life’s great crossroads thinking what the actual fudge am I supposed to do now…. All of it is welcome.

My role isn’t to take your power away, but rather to help you find your way back to it.
