Well… it's official! 🇬🇧🇧🇪
After months of study, tests, work and paperwork, I was invited to attend my British Citizenship Ceremony, where I proudly made my Oath of Allegiance to His Majesty King Charles III, surrounded by my husband and representatives from Norfolk County Hall.
This November marks 24 years since I first arrived in the UK. Amazingly, I have lived here 2 years longer than I lived in the country where I was born.
Becoming a British citizen isn't about leaving Belgium behind. It's about celebrating two countries that have shaped who I am. Belgium gave me my roots. Britain gave me the opportunity to grow and be myself fully.
This country welcomed me with open arms and gave me the chance to build a life, create a business from nothing, and follow my passions.
Along the way, I've tried to give something back bringing people together, making communities smile, encouraging acceptance, and hopefully leaving every place just a little warmer than I found it.
I've always believed that when you choose to make another country your home, you should embrace its culture, respect its laws, contribute to its communities, and share the best of who you are. I hope I've done exactly that, adding a little Belgian sparkle and a lot of heart wherever I've gone.
To everyone who has supported me, encouraged me and made me feel at home over the last 24 years… thank you. You've helped shape the person I am today.
So, what's next?
Exactly what I've always loved doing continuing to inspire, connect and support others through everything I do. Whether it's fitness, entertainment or community work, my goal remains the same: to help people feel happier, healthier, more accepted and more connected.
Today, I feel incredibly proud to call myself Belgian-British.
Here's to the next chapter. 🇧🇪❤️🇬🇧
