I’m stressed…” and “I’m overwhelmed…” are phrases we are hearing all too often in our work across the education sector. We also read about the offer of up’ing self-care to help this, but what does this
actually mean? Self-care isn’t all about bubble baths and massages but checking in on ourselves and how our work is impacting us along with challenging the thoughts we have about work.
As former stress heads and experienced CBT therapists we have developed two platforms for you to Bring Your Own Bother to us... you can get in touch to find out more, message on here or visit www.thtalkingrooms.com and make an enquiry

As you switch to working remotely it is important to look after your own wellbeing. In preparation for this, ask yourself…
- What will be helpful to stay mentally healthy? For example, taking regular breaks and having a designated work-space. Do you have a morning and end of day routine?
- What has worked (or hasn’t worked) in the past? What boundaries and home ground rules work for you? How is your sleep, water/food intake and are you moving enough and getting outside? What other commitments are you juggling and what can give?
- Are you connecting with others and reflecting on your own mental wellbeing? Look out for changes in your feelings, practice self-care and be aware of any changes such as disturbed sleep. Keep in touch with others. If you feel stuck, see how CBT can help you become unstuck here
- Don’t forget if you want confidential one to one support we are here for you, access our BYOB (Bring Your Own Bother) service https://www.thetalkingrooms.com/byob/

As we approach the holidays we invite you to think about the things you CAN control.

Draw a circle on a page and inside the circle write everything you control right now and over the festive break.

Some of the many examples I could find for me were watching my favourite films, making sure I go out for a walk every day and the time I spend on social media...

Outside of my circle of control is the weather, seeing everyone I would normally see and other people's moods.

Give it a go, turns out we can control more than we might have thought.
