Yesterday we said goodbye to a wonderful man who loved Crocodile Dundee... This was his magnificent floral tribute! So personal and so fitting. Goodnight my friend... It was an honour to send you on your way... 💙

I love to write poetry as anyone who has sat in one of my services knows. This picture spoke to me painted by Eleanor Tomlinson Art and I wanted to accompany it with a poem...I called it "Maamalade friends"

Who knew long ago when a small bear was born,
In the depths of wild Peru,
He would travel here to warm our hearts,
And meet our old Monarch too.
A bear who was raised on marmalade,
With chaos in his wake,
Would sit to drink tea with our beautiful Queen
And history he would make.
His little red boots and blue Duffle coat,
Would become a familiar sight,
To love, to care, to raise a smile,
And fight for what was right.
A superstar he fast became,
After his travels across the sea.
How many people would love him,
The bear of London he would be.
A familiar sight it is to behold,
All the flowers and cuddly bears,
Laid out at the Palace gates,
To show much each person cares.
From a little bear to a hero,
Hand in hand with our gracious Queen,
Accompanied on her last journey,
The best sight to ever be seen.
Please keep her safe on her travels,
To rest in Heaven above,
And let the angelic kingdom,
Know the nation send our love.
Paddington…You deserve to be knighted,
For the comfort, you have been,
For the smiles, you brought to our faces,
When you sat to take tea with the Queen.
