For so many women, the menopause transition can bring unexpected weight gain, and I know how easy it is to think that exercise should only be about losing weight.

But here's what I want you to remember... fitness isn't about shrinking your body – it's about building a stronger, healthier future. 💪✨

Our ❤️ hearts, 🦴 bones and 🧠 brains all need regular movement and strength training to help protect us from fragility and support long-term health after menopause.

I also know that stepping into an exercise environment can feel daunting. Maybe you haven't exercised for years. Maybe you're worried you won't fit in, or that aching joints, muscle pain or menopause symptoms will get worse.

You are not alone, and you don't have to be "fit" to get started. 🌸

I believe movement should be something we enjoy, not something we dread. When we shift our mindset and see exercise as an act of self-care rather than a punishment, that's when we begin to discover the joy of moving our bodies again. 🩵🚶‍♀️🧘‍♀️

As a Menopause Movement coach-in-training, I understand the impact that changing hormones have on a woman's body, and I can help you exercise in a way that works with your body, not against it. 🧡

✨ It's never too late to start moving. Every step, every stretch and every lift is an investment in a longer, stronger and healthier life.

Let's move for our health, our confidence and our future. Are you ready to start? 🌸🩵

❌ I am appalled by the recent decision by Reform-led East Sussex County Council to stop providing school holiday food vouchers to eligible families.

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 Families in Eastbourne and across the county desperately rely on this support, particularly during the school holidays when household budgets can be under even greater pressure.

💰 East Sussex County Council could have used some of the £7.3 million Crisis and Resilience Fund, which was allocated earlier this year, to help bridge the gap in support for families.

‼️ However, this funding will not come online until September (a significant oversight), leaving a vital gap during the school holidays when many families need support the most.

🔗I’ve attached an initial list of venues offering support and activities for children during the holidays. Please check the details before planning your visit, as availability, eligibility and arrangements may vary (see the link in the comments).

👏 I want to acknowledge all of the fantastic organisations, charities and businesses across East Sussex that do so much to support local families and communities.

😠 Reform’s decision directly undermines the vital work these groups do to help ensure children and families can access support, activities and nutritious meals during the school holidays.

💬 If you know of other venues, organisations or activities that should be included, please share them in the comments so we can help more families access the support available.

As the sun sets tonight, we step into the Eve of Lammas. 🌅

In the Wheel of the Year, this evening marks the eve of Lughnasadh (pronounced LOO-nuh-suh)—the ancient festival of the first harvest. It’s a gentle pause between the high, fiery energy of midsummer and the quiet grounding pull of autumn... 🍂

Tonight is all about recognising abundance—not just in the fields, but in our own lives... ✨️

In Pilates, we talk so much about laying down the foundations, or sowing seeds—the quiet, repetitive work of building core strength, finding alignment, and cultivating breath.🌱

Harvest season is the moment to stop and actually feel the strength you’ve grown.💪

As you step onto your mat this week, take a moment to reflect:
🌾 Where have you built strength or mobility that wasn't there earlier this year?
🍞 How can your movement nourish you right now, rather than just push you?
☀️ What hard work in your body and mind are you proud to celebrate?

Tonight, take a few deep lateral breaths, light a golden candle, or roll out your mat for a slow, grounding stretch to give thanks to everything your body does for you.

Wishing you a warm, grounded Eve of Lammas. 💛 and hopefully see you Eastbourne Lammas 2026 💃
