Starting daycare can bring up ALL the feelings - not only for your baby or toddler, but for you too. Especially when breastfeeding is part of the picture. ❤

Going back to work or starting childcare doesn’t have to mean stopping breastfeeding. There are lots of ways to make it work, and there’s no one “right” way.

Swipe for a little reassurance if daycare is on your horizon. 🥹
Wish you a great day and if you want to, share your first day in the comments!

People act like nursing your baby when they’re hungry, tired, scared, overwhelmed, or just need comfort means you’re treating them like royalty.

Okay… and? 😂

If responding to my baby’s needs makes them “spoiled,” then I guess pull out the crown.

Babies are supposed to depend on us. They’re supposed to seek comfort, closeness, food, and safety from the person caring for them.

So yes, if my baby wants the b**b and I’m able to give it to them, consider the royal service officially open. 👑

The goal isn’t to keep every part of sleep exactly the same forever.

Babies grow, family needs change, and sometimes the way sleep is working needs to change too. But the feeling underneath it can remain:

*I am safe. I am supported. I don’t have to do hard things alone.*

Inside Peaceful Nights, I’ll show you how to make gentle, practical changes to sleep, including introducing the crib, changing the way your baby settles and night weaning, while continuing to respond and offer comfort.

👉🏼 Comment SUPPORT for the link.

This course has already helped thousands of families find more sleep without ever leaving their baby to cry.

The one thing what I want you to remember when it comes to produce enough breastmilk:

The fuller your breasts stay, the more your body gets the message to slow milk production down.

Breast milk production is largely driven by milk removal. (Fancy name: Supply and demand system).

When milk sits in the breast for longer, local feedback signals tell your body: “We’ve got plenty. No need to make quite so much.”

When milk is removed regularly and effectively, your body gets the opposite message:
“Yep. We need more.”

Think about a shop stock: If people buy the product, you order more to make sure there is enough for everyone, right? If noone buys that product, you won't order a second stock just to keep it in the back room.
Simple as that.

So that lovely, rock-hard, painfully full breast you’re trying to maintain because you think it means you have a “good supply”?
It can actually be a sign that milk isn't being removed frequently or effectively enough and can decrease your supply.

And as breastfeeding becomes established, breasts often become softer and less obviously full, which can be completely normal and does NOT automatically mean your supply has disappeared.

Your baby doesn't need breasts that feel like they’re about to explode.

So stop chasing the full-b**b feeling as proof that you have enough milk, and make sure your breasts are comfortable.
Have you experienced full breasts before?

This is your reminder to trust yourself. The early days can feel like a LOT - finding the right position, getting a deep latch, supporting baby’s body… it can feel like you’re doing a full-body workout every feed whilst worrying about their intake.

But keep going or ask help. Those positioning struggles don’t last forever, I promise.

Because once baby gets stronger, bigger and more coordinated, you’ll be doing breast gymnastics you never thought possible. 😂

Today’s awkward latch and pillow mountain? Tomorrow’s “how are you even feeding like that?”

The most expensive mistake you can make when bottle feeding? Sizing up the teat just because your baby got older.

Your breast doesn’t change its flow rate because your baby turns 3, 6 or 9 months old. Your pores on your ni**le don’t suddenly “size up” either. Your baby simply becomes more efficient at removing milk.

So why do we assume bottles need to work differently?

Yes, some babies genuinely benefit from a faster-flow teat, for example, if they are collapsing the teat or becoming frustrated because the flow is too slow.

But if your baby is happy, feeding comfortably and transferring milk well, there is usually no reason to change the flow rate simply because they reached the next age bracket.

In fact, a flow that is too fast can contribute to feeding distress: arching away, dribbling, gulping, coughing, becoming gassy or fussy, and spitting up more after feeds.

So before you buy the “next stage” teat because the packaging tells you your baby is ready…

Ask your baby.

If they’re happy with the flow, save the money and buy yourself a coffee instead. ☕️
