Healthwatch East Sussex

Healthwatch East Sussex Your health and social care champion – we make sure decision makers hear your voice and use your feedback to improve care.

Healthwatch is the consumer champion for both health and social care. It exists in two distinct forms – local Healthwatch, at local level, and Healthwatch England, at national level. Healthwatch East Sussex enables people to share their views and concerns about their local health and social care services and understand that their contribution will help build a picture of where services are doing w

ell and where they can be improved
We are also able to alert Healthwatch England to concerns about specific care providers. In addition to this, Healthwatch East Sussex also provides people with information about their choices and what to do when things go wrong; this includes either signposting people to the relevant provider, or itself providing, support to individuals who want to complain about NHS services

Healthwatch East Sussex will provide, or signpost people to, information about local health and care services and how to access them, as well as provide authoritative, evidence-based feedback to organisations responsible for commissioning or delivering local health and social care services

Have you or someone you care for stayed in hospital in the last 12 months? Did you have a difficult experience when you left the hospital, or did it take longer than expected for you to go home?

We are working with Healthwatch England on a national project to better understand people's experiences of leaving hospital, and what could have gone better.

With the Bank Holiday coming up, it's a good time to check you have enough of any essential medications to get you through the long weekend, when GP surgeries will be closed.

Most surgeries require at least 3 working days, and your local pharmacy may not be able to dispense the medicine straight away depending on how busy they are and what they have in stock, so please plan accordingly.

The NHS App makes it quick and easy to request your medications any time.
