💧 Today is National Hydration Day 💧

With temperatures soaring and the heat affecting many of us, today is an important reminder to stay hydrated and take care of your health.

Drinking enough water helps regulate body temperature, maintain energy levels, and prevent dehydration, especially during periods of extreme heat. Whether you're at work, outdoors, exercising, or relaxing at home, keep a water bottle close by and encourage family, friends, and colleagues to do the same.

For those training or exercising in hot weather, extra precautions are essential:

🏃‍♀️ Train during cooler parts of the day, such as early morning or late evening
💧 Hydrate before, during, and after exercise
🧢 Wear lightweight, breathable clothing and sun protection
⏸️ Take regular breaks and reduce intensity when temperatures are high
⚠️ Stop exercising immediately if you experience dizziness, nausea, confusion, excessive fatigue, or cramps

✅ Drink water regularly throughout the day
✅ Limit excessive caffeine and alcohol intake
✅ Watch for signs of dehydration, including dizziness, headaches, and fatigue
✅ Check on older adults, children, and vulnerable neighbours during hot weather

When it's this hot, hydration isn't just a healthy habit—it's essential. This National Hydration Day, make hydration a priority and stay safe while enjoying the sunshine.
