🚨 STOP SCROLLING — THIS IS FOR EVERY PARENT, TEACHER, AND YOUNG PERSON 🚨

I want to talk about something I wish more people had when they were growing up…

A REAL guide to life.

Not just exams.
Not just school work.
But the actual things young people struggle with every single day.

So I wrote a book.

📘 YOUR LIFE. YOUR RULES.
A Teen’s Guide to Real-World Adulting

This isn’t just a book.
It’s a life-skills toolkit for young people who are trying to figure things out in a world that often expects them to just “know” how everything works.

Inside, it covers things like:

💡 Confidence and self-belief
💰 Managing money and understanding finances
🎯 Goal setting and staying motivated
🧠 Mental wellbeing and resilience
💬 Communication and relationships
📱 Navigating social media safely
🚀 Planning for the future
🏡 Real-life adult skills no one teaches in school

Because let’s be honest…

Too many young people leave school without the practical skills they actually need to thrive.

And that has to change.

💬 NOW I NEED YOUR HONEST OPINION

If you are a:

✔ Parent
✔ Teacher
✔ Youth worker
✔ Grandparent
✔ Or a young person yourself

Would you buy a book like this?

Do you think it would actually help?

And more importantly…

👉 What is ONE thing you wish someone had taught you before becoming an adult?

I’m not just trying to sell a book here.

I’m trying to create something that genuinely makes a difference.

Something that helps young people feel:
✔ More confident
✔ More prepared
✔ Less overwhelmed
✔ More in control of their future

📘 If this book was available today…

Would you want a copy for your child, your students, or even yourself?

Be honest — I really want to know.

👇 Drop a comment below. Even one word helps.

Your feedback could shape how many young people this book reaches.

💜 Your Life. Your Rules. Your Future Starts Here.

Finding the right school for a child with a learning disability is not just about finding a place with a classroom. It’s about finding people who see the child, understand their needs, celebrate their strengths, and believe in their potential. The right support can change a child’s whole school experience.” 💙

💙 Co-parenting and Learning Disabilities: The Importance of Understanding 💙

Co-parenting can be challenging for many families, but when a child has a learning disability, it brings a whole extra layer of emotions, learning, and responsibility.

One of the hardest things can be when parents do not see or accept the child’s needs in the same way. When one parent recognises that a child needs extra support, patience, understanding, or adjustments, but the other struggles to accept it, it can make an already difficult journey feel even harder.

A learning disability is not a label. It does not define a child’s future, their abilities, or their worth. It simply means they may learn, communicate, or process information differently and may need the right support to thrive.

Children benefit most when the adults around them work together, listen, learn, and put their needs first. Acceptance is not about giving up or lowering expectations — it is about understanding the child and helping them reach their potential.

💙 Every child deserves to be believed.
💙 Every child deserves support.
💙 Every child deserves parents who see them for who they are.

Sometimes the biggest difference we can make is choosing curiosity over judgement and support over denial.

A Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) is someone who helps children and young people with talking, understanding, communicating, and eating or drinking.

They can help by:

🗣️ Helping you talk

Helping you say sounds and words
Helping you use your voice to share your ideas and feelings

💬 Helping you communicate

Finding the best way for you to communicate
Using pictures, signs, symbols, or special communication devices if talking is difficult

👂 Helping you understand

Explaining words and instructions in a way that makes sense
Helping you understand conversations and stories

🤝 Helping with friendships

Practising things like taking turns, listening, and joining in conversations
Helping you feel more confident when talking with others

🍎 Helping with eating and drinking

Supporting children who find eating, chewing, or swallowing tricky
Finding ways to make mealtimes safer and easier

🏫 Working with others

Working with your family, teachers, doctors, and other helpers to make sure you get the support you need

A Speech and Language Therapist’s job is to help your voice be heard — whether you use talking, signs, pictures, or another way to communicate. Everyone communicates in their own way.

💙 The Side of SEND Parenting We Don't Always Talk About…

Some days are amazing.

Some days feel really hard.

There are days when you are:
📞 Chasing appointments
📚 Reading reports
📝 Fighting for the right support
🧠 Trying to understand behaviours
❤️ Supporting everyone else while feeling exhausted yourself

SEND parenting can be full of love and pride, but it can also be tiring.

Sometimes you need a break.
Sometimes you need someone to listen.
Sometimes you just need to hear: "You're doing your best."

The small wins matter.

The quiet moments matter.

And the fact that you keep showing up matters.

To every SEND parent — your journey is seen. 💙

Did you know that learning disabilities don’t define intelligence — they just mean we learn differently 💡

Every mind is unique, creative, and capable in its own way. Some of the most amazing ideas come from thinking outside the “standard” box ✨

I’ve been reflecting on this a lot in my journal lately, and it’s reminded me how important patience, kindness, and understanding really are — especially with ourselves 💛
