Yesterday was one of those days that reminds you what community is all about. ❤️
Families and friends of St David’s Boat Club took to the water for our 6th Annual Sponsored Swim, swimming from St David’s Beach to Moelfre Beach — around 3 miles — to raise money for the amazing Moelfre RNLI. 🌊🏊♀️🏊♂️
Some swimmers took on the full 3 miles (definitely not me! 😅), while others swam whatever distance they could manage. Different abilities, different distances… but all in it together. 💙
And what a sight it was! The fancy dress was brilliant — pirates, lobsters, wigs, tutus and goodness knows what else making their way across the water! 😂🏴☠️🦞🩰
Over the past five years, this amazing event has raised more than £25,000 for Moelfre RNLI, and this year the hope is to add even more and take that incredible total beyond £30,000. 🙌
The RNLI is there for people when they need help most, and supporting the volunteers who give their time, energy and often put themselves in danger to help others feels like something really worth getting behind.
Once everyone was safely back on dry land, the celebrations began! 🎉
A fantastic beach party with food, music, laughter and families all coming together… followed by dancing the rest of the night away in the bar. 🍔🎶💃
And we're not quite finished yet…
Round 2 is this afternoon! 🎉
Raffle, live music and hopefully another chance to add to that fundraising total. 🤞❤️
So here's to the swimmers, the supporters, the boat crews, the organisers, the fancy dress legends and everyone who has donated.
What a day. What a community. What a brilliant cause. ❤️
