A very proud day for Gillotts as our funeral arranger Hannah receives her Funeral Arranging and Administration Certificate at the National Association of Funeral Directors Conference. Well done Hannah for your hard work and for how well you look after the families we care for at our Stapleford Funeral Home.

We’d like to officially announce that Gillotts are now a sister company of A.W. Lymn the family funeral service under the ownership of the A. W. Lymn Group. Joanne Hutsby and Anthony Topley, two of the partners of the partnership which previously owned the business, are continuing as the Business Managers and Senior Funeral directors for the Gillotts group and the other two partners, Joanne’s parents Barry and Elaine Hutsby will now enjoy a well-earned retirement.

The business will continue to be known at Gillotts Funeral Directors and we will continue to operate our iconic Jaguar funeral fleet, with the opportunity to offer clients a range of alternatives from the Lymns fleet on request. We expect very little to change for our clients and staff – who are all staying with us - except where we can work together to do things better and more efficiently, allowing the Gillotts team more time to dedicate to caring for the needs of our client families. We can confirm that all funeral plans taken out with Gillotts are completely unaffected.

This new chapter in the history of Gillotts gives us an opportunity to bring together generations of family history and service to families from both businesses. We want to spread the message that your local family funeral home should be the starting point for discussing your needs and options no matter what kind of send off you want for you or your loved one.

Our Selston funeral home has had a visit from a vintage AA recovery vehicle to lead the way to the funeral of a gentleman who gave almost 40 years of service to the AA. What a fantastic tribute.

We get real satisfaction from custom designing tribute hearts or eternity candles for families. Both contain compartments to retain a loved one's lock of hair, their precious jewellery, a small portion of ashes or anything else that feels right.

This week we have been visited by ‘Ernie’ the 1965 VW Split Screen Hearse, shown here at Amber Valley Crematorium with one of our Jaguar Limousines.

Organising loved one’s final journey in such an iconic vehicle gives families an opportunity to really celebrate a life well lived and we’re so proud to be part of that special day.
