At a time where owners are doing their utmost to understand and treat their horses, and therapists are investing annually in educational programs to refine their intuition, understanding, and analytical skills, I feel something is missing... we only talk about treatments to provide relief once a problem has already taken hold.
Opinions differ, views clash, and tempers flare, yet there is surely one thing we can agree on: the prevention of diseases, pathologies, and dysfunctions to avoid them.
And yet, this topic is never addressed.
Do we truly understand horses ?—their biology, their physiology, and how they relate to the world around them?
Shall we not change our approach and our way to work around horses as professionals and owners?
We are treating individuals better and better, but in ever-increasing numbers.
We, humans, have a critical role when it comes to equine disease prevention
