It's important we do all we can to stay cool during this hot weather, in particular any older people or those with underlying medical conditions who may be particularly vulnerable to the effects of hot weather.
Information around who is most at risk and tips for coping in hot weather are available on the NHS How to cope in hot weather page:

Below are some of the simple things you can do to keep cool:
- Stay hydrated - drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine, alcohol and hot drinks.
- Pull down blinds, switch off lights and use fans (where appropriate).
- Keep out of direct heat - stay in shaded areas when possible (e.g. during breaks), wear cool clothing, sun cream and a sun hat.
- Avoid exercise or any activities that make you hotter.
