High blood pressure often has no symptoms, but it can increase your risk of heart attack, stroke, kidney disease and other serious health conditions. The good news is that it's easy to check and, if needed, it can often be managed with lifestyle changes or treatment.

During Know Your Numbers! Week, everyone is encouraged to find out their blood pressure reading. Whether you're 20 or 80, knowing your numbers is one of the best ways to take control of your health. This year's theme is "You know your age, do you know your numbers?"

You can have your blood pressure checked:
💙 At your GP practice
💙 At many local pharmacies
💙 At home using a validated blood pressure monitor

If your blood pressure is high, don't panic. Your healthcare team can support you with advice, lifestyle changes and treatment if needed. Small changes, such as eating less salt, being more active and maintaining a healthy weight, can make a big difference. 🌿🚶

Don't wait for symptoms – because there often aren't any. Know your numbers and take control of your heart health today. ❤️

🌸 Celebrating South Asian Heritage Month🌸
This month, we celebrate the rich cultures, histories, traditions, and contributions of South Asian communities. From language, music, and art to food, faith, and family, South Asian heritage is woven into the fabric of our communities and continues to inspire generations.
South Asian Heritage Month is a time to reflect, learn, and appreciate the diversity and resilience that shape our shared society. It's also an opportunity to listen to stories, celebrate achievements, and stand together in creating inclusive communities where everyone feels seen, valued, and respected.
Let's honour the past, celebrate the present, and inspire the future.
✨ Happy South Asian Heritage Month!

☀️ Stay cool and stay protected this summer! 🌿
Hot weather can take a toll on your health, but a few simple habits can help you stay safe and comfortable.
💧 Stay hydrated
🧴 Apply (and reapply!) sunscreen
🌞 Avoid prolonged sun exposure, especially during peak hours
👕 Wear lightweight, breathable clothing
👒 Don't forget a hat for extra protection
Taking care of yourself in the heat can help prevent dehydration, sunburn, and heat-related illnesses.
Stay safe, enjoy the sunshine responsibly, and have a wonderful summer! ☀️💛

❤️ World Blood Donor Day ❤️
Today, we celebrate and thank the incredible blood donors who help save lives every single day.
One donation can make a huge difference to patients in emergencies, surgeries, cancer treatments, and long-term medical care. Giving blood is a simple act of kindness that can help families and communities when they need it most.
If you’re eligible to donate, consider becoming a blood donor and helping support the NHS and patients across the UK.
Thank you to all donors for your generosity and life-saving contributions ❤️

Every baby matters. Every family matters. 💙

Every day in the UK, 13 babies die shortly before, during or soon after birth, and at least 1 in 6 pregnancies end in miscarriage.

Behind every statistic is a family carrying unimaginable grief often in silence.

Sands provides support for bereaved families, works to improve bereavement care, and helps save babies’ lives through research and awareness.

No one should face pregnancy or baby loss alone. 🤍
