The African Caribbean Society of Scotland (ACSS) proudly announces The Afro Celt Exhibition — a three-day celebration of African-Scottish creativity, identity, and heritage.

This landmark exhibition showcases a powerful collection of works by Nkem Okwechime, Okata, and The Black Music Institute, exploring the deep cultural connections between Africa, the Caribbean, and Scotland.

Expect a vibrant fusion of visual art, photography, and cultural storytelling that captures the Afro Celt vision — the blending of histories, influences, and communities that continue to shape Scotland’s creative landscape.

Special Discussion Event – Saturday, 26th October at 2 PM

Join us for an exclusive conversation with Professor Mykaell Riley and MC Otis , exploring
“The History of Black Music in the UK and Life Culturally in the 1980s to Now in Edinburgh.”
An engaging dialogue reflecting on the rhythms, stories, and movements that have defined Black British music and identity.

Spoken Word Performance – Sunday, 27th October

Experience the powerful voice of Pepita Mwanga, whose evocative spoken word performance will close the exhibition weekend. Her words capture themes of belonging, resilience, and the shared Afro-Scottish experience — a perfect finale to this celebration of art and culture.
