I've recently heard something about motherhood and it made so much sense to me "the days are long but the years are short".

It's already been 8 months with my little monkey. And God, I love her every day much more than the day before. The way she snuggles my face, search for the b**b in the middle of the night and scares us with her new baby sounds at 3am is something I can't describe. My heart melts for you.

She's teaching me in its purest and rawest way. Yes it is tough sometimes. Yes I do swear and get mad at times when she's tired and refuses to sleep... When her nappy leaks in the middle of the night or when I need to drive and she cries her head off in the car seat. But all of this is part of the duality of life: day and night, heat and cold, love and hate. The thing is that I love and get addicted to it more and more every single day .

It is now time for even more cuddles, pumpkin spice late and get cosy indoors with those we love. So ready for fall season with you πŸπŸπŸπŸ‚πŸ‚

Human beings are carrying species and that's why it should feel natural to hold and carry our babies .

Part of the western culture is to carry our babies using buggies and bassinets which are totally uncommon among cultures where moms take their babies wherever they are like the indigenous and some African and Asian population.

Baby wearing have a lot of benefits such as calming the baby due to closeness making them feel safe and secure which is essential for their emotional wellbeing.

For the motor development, baby wearing can also helps the development of the vestibular system, responsible for baby's balance which helps build neurological pathways and the brain's ability to balance and coordinate.

When it comes to sleep, it's an essential tool for those newborn months when the baby needs this closeness to rest well during day naps. It also means that you can have your free hands to catch up on anything that has to be done whilst baby sleeps. Back on my postpartum period the sling used to be part of my daily uniform and Maia still loves napping on the sling.

And finally, this is such a great way to avoid the hassle of prams on busy buses, trains and even moving it out on the streets.

Let me know in the comments how would you like to carry your baby πŸ˜‰

So, what is the point of having a doula?
Doulas are non-medical professionals who are responsible for providing emotional, physical and informational support during pregnancy, labour and post-partum.

A doula is there to serve the mum to be in whatever she needs. It can either be to simplify hold her hands and reassure her power of giving birth, to provide a massage or warm bath as a pain relief and even to look after partners who will also get tired during labour.

Michel Odent a famous french obstetrician known for encouraging natural vaginal birth once said: " If a doula were a drug, it would be unethical not to use it".

Of course you can give birth without a doula. The most important person in childbirth is the mum itself. However, women have always gathered around childbirth throughout history, giving one another support. Give yourself also a chance to receive this ancient feminine support.

This is me labouring and receiving all the love and care of my dear πŸ’•

When I signed up for a doula training I never thought about how privileged I would be when witnessing families being born as well as all the friendship that would come with that.

One of the best things about being a doula is about building this beautiful network of mamas going through the "ups and downs" of motherhood, supporting each other and sharing love amongst our kids.

Thank you so much for trusting me and giving me the honour to support you and your family . What a privilege to hold each other babies just over a year πŸ’—πŸ’—
