Not every child jumps straight in — and that’s okay. 💜

If your child feels nervous about swimming lessons, let us know. At HH Swim School, we focus on helping children feel welcomed and building confidence at their own pace.

Our Soft Start programme offers additional support for children who need a more gradual introduction. Ask us whether it could suit your child.

CAN’T MAKE IT LIVE? WATCH WHEN YOU NEED IT.

Family life doesn’t always cooperate with a webinar timetable.

Bedtime happens.
Clubs happen.
Someone gets ill.
Someone needs you.

So attending every Parent Hub webinar live isn’t essential.

Each session will go into the growing Parent Hub webinar library.

That means you can:

▶️ catch up when it suits your family
▶️ revisit topics later when they suddenly become relevant
▶️ go back to a session when you need a reminder
▶️ join Parent Hub later and still benefit from earlier topics

Over time, membership becomes more useful because the library keeps growing.

Live when you can.
On demand when you need it.

DON’T JUST LEARN IT. USE IT.

One of my biggest frustrations with mental-health information is when you finish reading something useful and then think:

“Great… but what do I actually do with that?”

So every Parent Hub topic needs a practical next step.

That might be:

💜 a parent reflection sheet
💚 a checklist
💜 a conversation guide
💚 a school communication template
💜 a family exercise
💚 a step-by-step strategy

And where it genuinely fits the topic, we’ll also create an accompanying child or teen resource.

Because sometimes parents don’t need more information.

They need something they can actually sit down and use with their child.

Parent Hub isn’t being built as a library of information.

It’s being built as a toolkit for family life.

What does one week inside HH Parent Hub actually look like?

The webinar is only one part of it.

Everything in the week will connect around one main topic:

🎥 LIVE WEBINAR + Q&A
A proper look at the topic, practical examples and time for real parent questions.

📩 IN-DEPTH NEWSLETTER
Research, evidence and what it actually means at home.

💜 PARENT RESOURCE
A worksheet, checklist, guide or practical tool linked directly to the week.

💚 CHILD OR TEEN RESOURCE
Where it genuinely fits, something you can use with your child — not just read about them.

▶️ WATCH ON DEMAND
Missed the live session? Catch up through the growing webinar library.

❓ PRACTICAL SCRIPTS + Q&A
What would I actually say? What could I try tonight?

One topic. Explored properly. Made practical.

And all built around one aim:

More confident parents.
More resilient children.

📩 NOT JUST ANOTHER NEWSLETTER.

Every Parent Hub week will include an in-depth newsletter linked to that week’s topic.

And I don’t want it to be filler.

While preparing each week, I’ll be looking at journal articles, systematic reviews, professional guidance and good-quality evidence.

Then we’ll do the useful bit:

translate it into normal family life.

The newsletter will include a regular section:

🔎 “This week whilst researching…”

where I’ll share something from the evidence that I genuinely found interesting, useful or thought-provoking.

Then we’ll ask:

What does this actually mean at home?
What could you try?
What could you say?
What should you notice?
When might you respond differently?

And if the evidence is mixed or limited, I’ll say that too.

Parents deserve better than confident-sounding advice with nothing underneath it.

Evidence-informed. Practical. Understandable.

One smaller step 💚

This week's family challenge: choose ONE manageable thing your child would like to practise, and break it into a smaller first step.

It might be asking a question, trying a new activity or beginning a task they've been avoiding.

Notice the effort, not just the outcome. Adjust the challenge if it becomes overwhelming.

What small step could work for your family this week?

MYTH OF THE WEEK 💜

“Resilient children don't get upset.”

Not true. Resilience isn't the absence of big feelings. Children can feel worried, frustrated or disappointed and still gradually learn ways to recover and move forward.

A helpful first step: name the feeling before jumping to solutions.

“It's disappointing when that happens. I'm here with you.”

Happy. Healthy. Supported.

We’re not trying to raise children who never struggle.

We’re helping them learn that they can cope when life is difficult.

Friendships change.
School can be hard.
Plans go wrong.
Anxiety happens.
Disappointment happens.

Resilience isn’t about making sure children never feel uncomfortable.

And it isn’t about telling them to “toughen up”.

It’s about helping children gradually develop the skills and confidence to get through difficult things — with supportive adults around them.

That’s why Parent Hub focuses on parents too.

When you understand more about what may be happening and have practical tools available, you’re in a stronger position to support your child through the difficult bits.

💜 Happy. Healthy. Supported.
💚 Happy. Healthy. Confident.

💚 What would I actually say?

When your child says “I can't do it”, try:

“That feels tricky. Let's find one smaller step together?”

You don't have to solve the whole problem for them. Start with listening, then offer the right amount of support for that moment.

What helps your child feel confident enough to try again?
