How do changes in technology, service design, and clinical practice shape patients’ journey through healthcare?

The opening morning of our St Andrew’s Day Acute Medicine Symposium explores the modern patient journey, beginning with Professor Graham Ellis on the history, impact and future of hospital at home and virtual wards.

Dr Charlotte Routh will look at same day emergency care – why we need more of it, current practice and where it could go next – before our final talk explores how AI could influence the patient journey, from triage to potential clinical roles.

The morning continues with our Day 1 Keynote Lecture from Professor Alexander Miras on GLP-1 receptor agonists: past, present and future, followed by practical approaches to pulmonary embolus, cardiorenal syndrome and liver failure.

Join us in person or online on 26th and 27th November 2026.
