It's a milestone birthday for Dominic Appleby, who turns 40 today.

Born and bred in the North East of England, Dom has served families throughout the region for over 20 years, with sincere, genuine care and compassion. His cheeky smile and good humour are just some of the qualities his William Purves colleagues value and his ambition (from a wee lad) to serving families at their time of need has never wavered. Enjoy your big day Dominic.

We all love a passion project.

It was a love of Land Rovers, combined with the desire to provide more choice and personalisation for our families, that led to the addition of the Land Rover Defender Hearse to our funeral fleet.

Hear the thoughts from our Chief Operations Officer, Andrew Purves, and Director Ben Thomson, who explain what made this project so special.

It wouldn't be summer without us making an appearance at our local bowling clubs.

We're delighted to sponsor Trinity Bowling Club - Edinburgh where funeral director Luke Hughes presented the trophy to the trio from Craigentinny Bowling Club, winners of this year's Purves Triples.

Look out for more William Purves people on a green near you this summer!

Have you thought about hydrolysis or other modern funeral options for you or your loved ones?

Chief Operations Officer Andrew Purves featured on LBC with Nick Ferrari this morning to explain the science behind hydrolysis in light of the recent law commission calling for more contemporary funeral choices in England and Wales.

From March this year, it's legally possible in Scotland and already people are adding this option to their Plan of Wishes of prepaid funeral plans.
