Mamadoula Daisy pregnancy and birth services

Mamadoula Daisy pregnancy and birth services Mamadoula supports women and their partners during pregnancy, through birth and into early parenting. I am happy to meet you to discuss your needs

I strongly believe in every woman's ability to know what is right for her and her baby and that, with support of her partner and/or a doula and access to information, she can birth her baby with grace, strength and passion. I have supported many women planning to birth after caesarean (VBAC) and those considered high risk.

One of the perks of being a doula with a camper van is that when I am off call I can go for rest breaks in beautiful Scotland. And I can be close by when I am on call.

I’ve returned to running my@monthly singing group with women in the woods - we stay indoors for six months and go outdoors for the other six. After many years of doing this, the enjoyment deepens, the connections are stronger and the songs are heartier. We also share a lot of silliness, alongside grief.
This evening was special- and the photo captured by .

and I have just spent the last three months working with, guiding, sharing, teaching and learning with these five wonderful new doulas in Findhorn. It has been inspirational, hearty, joyful and deep, with each of them firmly committed to their intentions and the necessity for this support for birth and families.
We have never needed heart centred, passionate care more- for bonding, for love, for peaceful arrivals in the planet, and peace in the world.

Our courses at aim to show each participant that her unique self already has many of the ways of the doula, that she can show up with her heart and her presence, her faith in the woman’s/birthing person’s intuition and process, and know that she is enough.

If you’d like to join us for our next training in Edinburgh in the autumn, do get in touch.

Wow! What a beautiful photo of the power of the mighty uterus. And how wise it is in its ability to get baby positioned, pull the cervix around the bay’s head and power the baby down and out of the body. All while resting and recovering in between.

• 💪 Wow, look at this powerful contraction! During labor, contractions come in a strong, rhythmic pattern. As deep internal tightening and squeezing of the belly, often felt as a wave of pressure and cramping that rises and falls. I like to think of each contraction as climbing a mountain. It begins gently, as the muscles of the uterus start to tighten you feel the build up as the intensity gradually increases, your body working in perfect rhythm. Then comes the peak the very top of the mountain which is the most powerful part of the contraction when your body is doing its greatest work to dilate the cervix and move your baby down. This moment, although intense, is brief usually just about10 to 15 seconds. Then, you move into the let-down, where the wave begins to ease, and the muscles soften and relax. Finally, you reach the break, the valley after the mountain where your belly is calm, your body rests, and you can take a deep breath, recharge, rest yourself as you prepare for the next wave.
Each contraction brings you one step closer to meeting your baby. Trust your body, trust the process, and remember you are powerful beyond measure! 📸

I’m basking in the glow of having run our fourth retreat - Heart Song Laughter Village - with my dear friend and all of these beautiful souls in the Scottish Borders.

Time surrounded by stunning nature, snow, in a cosy home with open fires and so much singing, laughter, great food, crafting and connection. Our hearts open and overflowing with the medicine of the songs and the joy we shared. So much ❤️ love.

and I continue to work on being the best hosts and to curate a wholesome, deep retreat for our communities of women. I am so grateful to have this inspiring and heart-led collaborative friendship, and so thankful to all the women who put their faith in us and our holding.

If you would like us to come to your area for a day workshop of singing and laughter, do get in touch.
