There is no change in the law and there never will be to give them what they want, the Hairdressing Council will cease to exist before it does, and now finally acceptance that their s**t does't even apply in Scotland. Licensing is a devolved issue for Scotland and I assume although haven't checked Wales. 🤣🤣🤣

If you're on the Hairdressing Council register, be aware that contact details held on it, including personal email addresses and mobile numbers, have been accessible online in a way the Council may not have intended. I've reported it to the Council and asked them to fix it.
Until you hear from them, treat any unexpected email or text claiming to come from the Council, a supplier, or a 'client' with more caution than usual, and don't click links or share details. If you're registered and want to know what the Council holds about you, you're entitled to ask them under UK GDPR.
