It’s always bittersweet when a client finishes up. On one hand, I couldn’t be happier for them that they have achieved their goals. On the other hand I’ll dearly miss seeing them regularly and having all sorts of meaningful conversations.

In this case, I’m absolutely certain that Laura is equipped with the skill set and the knowledge to take care of her body moving forward and crush any of her goals.

She’s like a sponge when it comes to learning the “why” behind all of the training we did and, out of all of the attributes a successful client can have, I have to say that curiosity and the desire to learn are at the absolute top of the list. (That and getting the training done!)

Congrats Laura! 💪

Need help with your training. Give me a shout. 👋

I’m so tired of how curated everything and everyone is looking on the gram now, especially in the fitness sphere.

Here’s an “anti highlight” instagram reel, which is called normal life for most people…

I’m also so tired of everyone trying to be optimal, so here I am training hungover this Saturday (super rare for me). It was a good night though! Gonna be a dry few months I think now… 😂

A resilient body comes from a resilient mind. A mind that is confident in its ability to heal, and rebuild stronger than before.

Don’t get me wrong, I would have been more stoked if my client had told me he managed to do the move with zero repercussions…

…but we both know he can prepare to be stronger next time he tries, and it gives us a fun target to be able to monkey around on rings!

This is the reverse of aging!

Trying.

Failing.

Rebuilding.

Trying again.

Succeeding.

A world of possibilities and expanding horizons.

If you have pain in big toe extension during split squats, this video is for you.

Here are some suggestions that have worked for me and my clients:

Number One: Wear trainers with padding, not thin soles.
Number Two: Place a wedge under your metatarsals.
Number Three: Place a plate under your metatarsals.
Number Four: Do other single leg squat variations like Bulgarians!

Most importantly, don’t stop training.

I hope that helps!

I can’t believe it’s already been 8 years! I’ll do a deep dive another time to tell a bit more about all the struggles of building a business in a new place/country, but here are the nuts and bolts about what got me here in EDINBRRRAH! (Not Edin”borough” 😉 - get it right North Americans!)
