Ladies and gentlemen, please join us in wishing a very happy 73rd birthday to Pete — unofficially crowned the most experienced (ahem, distinguished) carer in town. 😉

He's been at this so long he probably trained some of our newer starters' grandparents' care routines. And as if that wasn't enough, this July Pete quietly clocked up 15 years with Bluebird Care — 15 years of turning up, cracking jokes, and being the reliable face our customers know they can count on.

We reckon the secret to Pete's staying power is equal parts good humour and stubborn refusal to slow down. Don't ever change, Pete. 🎂🥳

🎭 If you're local, you know exactly what this photo means. 😅

August in Edinburgh — the Royal Mile heaving, a street performer mid-act, and half the city wondering how they're going to get from A to B for the next three weeks. The Fringe, the Tattoo, the International Festival — we love it, but let's be honest, it does make getting around town... interesting.

Here's the thing though: while Edinburgh's population nearly doubles this month, our customers' routine doesn't change one bit. Rain or shine, road closures or not, our carers are still getting across the city, to every customer, on time — festival crowds and all. 💙

☕ It's Afternoon Tea Week! 🧁

Ask any of our carers what they love most about the job, and a good few will tell you it's the small moments — a proper chat over a cuppa, a shared biscuit, hearing a story you've heard a hundred times but listen to anyway because it matters to them.

A walk outdoors can do wonders for both your physical and mental wellbeing🌿🚶

🎉 18 years ago today, Bluebird Care Edinburgh opened its doors; right as the world tipped into a global financial crash. Not exactly perfect timing! But here we are, 18 years, a recession and a global pandemic later, still going strong. 💪💙

Look how young and fresh-faced they were! 😅 John and Jane our Directors pictured here on the launch day in 2008.

Eighteen years, and it turns out time flies for all of us which, funnily enough, is exactly why we do what we do. Getting older happens to every single one of us, and when it does, we believe you should be able to stay right where you belong: at home, cared for properly.

Every hour of care we deliver is still measured against "the gran stick", named after Jane's gran, the reason this business exists in the first place.

Thank you to every customer and family who's trusted us, and to every employee, past and present, who's helped us weather every storm along the way. Thanks to our landlords too at Create who have accommodated our office moves here in Craigmillar as we grew over the years.

Let's see what the future holds! 🙏💙

🐦 Knock knock… unannounced inspection day! 😅

On Wednesday 29th July, the Care Inspectorate arrived at Bluebird Care Edinburgh with no warning. No notice. No prep. Just us, doing what we do every day. 💪

And the result? A 5 — Very Good — in every single theme inspected. ✨ Our people, our team, our processes, our leadership — every area gave the inspector every reason to be confident that the people we support are safe, well cared for, and truly at the centre of everything we do.

We mean it when we say — THIS IS YOUR TEAM, Edinburgh. 🙌🎉

Every visit. Every call. Every cup of tea made just the way someone likes it. ☕ You show up and you do it brilliantly, every single day.

What a way to end the week — we couldn't be prouder. 💙
