Cairdean House is a modern, purpose-built care home in the beautiful village of Colinton, Edinburgh. The dedicated team offer specialist nursing, residential and dementia care within a home that has been designed with the needs of people living with dementia in mind. Cairdean House has a homely feel, with lots of spaces where residents can relax and socialise, such as the coffee shop, cinema room

and hair salon. There are various safe outdoor spaces for residents to enjoy, including a first-floor courtyard and large terraces, plus beautiful landscaped gardens that border woodland. Residents are encouraged to play an active part in the home, from engaging in the daily goings-on to taking part in activities that they have always loved.

🥳Cairdean House Foodies Festival🥳

Today we hosted our wonderful Cairdean House Foodies Festival and what a day!

Our amazing Chef's and kitchen team showcased a spectacular array of Scottish cuisine from Cullen Skink, Haggis pakora to Irn Bru cake! Some of our amazing staff also contributed with a little "touch of home" dishes special to them.

Our residents, families and visitors thoroughly enjoyed a little touch of Scottish food and of course getting together over a little glass or two of wine. Thank you to our amazingly talented team for today and a special thanks goes to Natsumi our pianist from housekeeping with her wonderful entertainment!

❤️International Day of Friendship❤️

We welcomed our Sister home Murrayside care home this morning to enjoy a coffee morning here at Cairdean House for International Day of Friendship.

What a beautiful sunny morning where our residents came together to meet one another over a cuppa and cake in our beautiful cafe! It was wonderful to see such heartwarming conversations and new friendships being made! Special thanks to Natsuni, our wonderful housekeeper who serenaded us on the piano.

Thank you to residents of Murrayside care home for coming along, we must do it again soon. 🍰☕️

⚽️Goal-Den Football Event!⚽️

Our Care UK homes came together during the start of the summer football fever. Our teams laced up their boots for a charitable football tournament in aid of Alzheimer's Scotland. Residents, family members and staff came together from both Sister homes in Edinburgh to host the Cairdean House vs Murrayside care home tournament. Residents and families cheered on the teams from the side-lines and our mascot's had their own fun at half time! Murrayside came out on top winning overall and everyone awarded a medal for their amazing efforts!
Thank you to our very special Referee who gave up his precious time and ensured the games ran well. Special thanks to Ellie Thomson, as Care UK are proud sponsors of Hibernian FC Next Gen Academy it was lovely to see her on the day. Thank you to all of our wonderful team who made this day possible!
