Health and Social Care Moray are providing advise on becoming Power of Attorney
If you care for someone, you’ll know how quickly things can change.
Unexpected illness or changes in someone’s ability to make decisions can happen at any time, and in those moments, having the right plans in place can make things a little easier.
Power of Attorney Day on 22 April is encouraging people to plan ahead. A Power of Attorney (PoA) allows someone to make decisions on behalf of a person if they’re no longer able to – helping ensure their wishes are respected and reducing stress for those who care for them.
Across Scotland, more than 600,000 unpaid carers support someone who is older, disabled or living with illness. Having a Power of Attorney in place can make a real difference in difficult circumstances.
Power of Attorney Day is a good opportunity to start that conversation with the person you care for, and with your family.
