🌼 Hay Fever Awareness: It's Not Just Your Nose and Eyes! 🌼

As pollen levels rise, many people expect the familiar symptoms of hay fever – sneezing, itchy eyes, and a runny nose. But did you know that hay fever can also affect your ears?

👂 When allergies cause inflammation in the nose and sinuses, excess mucus can block the Eustachian tube, the small passage that helps equalise pressure and drain fluid from the middle ear.

This can lead to:
• A feeling of blocked or "full" ears
• Muffled hearing
• Popping or crackling sounds
• Increased tinnitus symptoms
• Dizziness or balance issues in some cases

While these symptoms are often temporary, ongoing ear problems should always be checked by a hearing care professional.

If you're noticing changes in your hearing or persistent ear discomfort during allergy season, don't ignore it. The cause may be linked to hay fever, but it's important to rule out other conditions too.

🚨 Sudden Hearing Loss could be a Medical Emergency 🚨

Have you ever woken up and noticed that your hearing in one ear seems muffled, distorted, or completely gone? This could be Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss, a condition that requires urgent medical attention.

⚠️ Symptoms may include:
• Sudden hearing loss in one ear
• A feeling of fullness or pressure in the ear
• Ringing in the ear (tinnitus)
• Dizziness or balance problems

⏰ Time matters. Treatment is most effective when started as soon as possible, ideally within 72 hours after symptoms begin.

If you experience a sudden change in your hearing, don't wait to see if it improves on its own, or think it's just wax. Contact your GP immediately to get it checked.

Happy International No Diet Day 🍫🎉

So today… I'm officially saying YES to that chocolate brownie. No guilt, no “I’ll start again Monday,” just pure, unapologetic enjoyment 😄
