I looked back at my post about the new aqua massage cushions and thought…

Helena, you really didn’t explain that very well, did you? 😂

In my defence, I’d had a long day at the clinic and I think my brain had already clocked off before the rest of me had left the building!

So here’s the much better version. 💜

The aqua massage cushions aren’t just a lovely little extra — they’re there to add another level of warmth, support and comfort to your treatment.

The warm water-filled cushions gently mould around and support your body, helping you settle more comfortably and relax more deeply during your massage.

They may also help to:
💜 encourage deeper relaxation
💜 ease general aches and tension
💜 provide gentle, continuous warmth
💜 support circulation and lymphatic flow
💜 make your whole treatment feel even more comfortable and cocooning

And, very importantly, there is NO extra charge for using them.

If you fancy trying them, brilliant. If they’re not for you, we simply take them away and carry on with your treatment as normal.

Nothing forced. Nothing complicated. Just another little way I’m trying to make your time at Helrica Massage Clinic feel even more comfortable and cared for.

Well… the aqua massage cushions have officially had their first proper outing at Helrica Massage Clinic and I am SO excited about them. 💜

Before I ever introduce anything new into the clinic, there is one very important rule…

I have to try it first. 😂

Because if I wouldn’t happily lie there and have it myself, I’m certainly not going to introduce it to my lovely ladies.

And these passed the Helena test. 🙌

The cushions are filled with warm water and gently mould around and support your body, giving you that lovely supported, almost floating feeling while you relax into your treatment.

The warmth, the support and the way your body settles into them just creates a completely different massage experience.

For me, this is what Helrica Massage Clinic is all about.

Not changing things just for the sake of it, but continually looking for those little extras that can make you feel more comfortable, more supported and even more able to switch off.

And the best bit?

There is no additional charge to use them.

If they’re suitable for your treatment and you fancy giving them a try, we can.

If you try them and think, “Nope Helena, I prefer my usual massage couch!” — absolutely fine. We simply take them away and carry on exactly as we would normally.

Nothing is compulsory here. 💜

But I really do think they’re worth experiencing at least once.

One of my lovely ladies tried them yesterday and I’m going to let her tell you in the comments what she thought of them… because I think her reaction says rather a lot. 🥰

DAY 16 — 30 DAYS. 30 HAIRSTYLES. STILL ME. 💜

Today’s hair made me feel… like me.

And actually, today that was enough.

Because today is Erica’s birthday. 💜

There was no way I was going to let the day pass without marking it somehow, so there was tea, there was a KitKat, and there was a little Happy Birthday Erica sitting in the clinic that carries both of our names.

Helena + Erica = Helrica.

It still amazes me sometimes where life has taken me.

There was a time when Erica and I were simply two friends sharing ordinary days, conversations, laughter and chocolate.

And now, years later, I’m standing in a clinic that exists because of everything that friendship eventually set in motion.

Today’s hair didn’t need to make me feel glamorous, powerful or particularly brave.

Today it just needed to feel like me.

The woman I am now.
The woman Erica knew.
And the woman I’ve become since saying goodbye to her.

I think she’d have had something to say about the amount of hair I own by now. 😂

So today, amongst appointments, cups of tea and everything else that makes up an ordinary day at Helrica Massage Clinic, I took a moment.

A KitKat.
A cuppa.
A little birthday message.

And a quiet thought for my friend.

Happy Birthday, Erica. 💜

You’re still here in so many of the things I do.

I woke up this morning, read this… and genuinely wondered if I was still asleep and dreaming. 🥹💜

Look what I woke up to.

Rachel, thank you. Truly. To read words like these about Helrica Massage Clinic — about the values, the little touches, the feeling of being cared for, and the treatment itself — means more to me than I can properly put into words.

Because this is exactly what I hoped to create.

Not somewhere you simply come for a massage.

Somewhere you can arrive carrying everything… and, for a little while, put it all down.

Somewhere you feel listened to, cared for and able to just be YOU.

And today makes this one feel even more special.

DAY 15 — 30 DAYS. 30 HAIRSTYLES. STILL ME. 💜

How did today’s hair make me feel?

Not glamorous.
Not particularly exciting.
Not like I was about to make some grand entrance.

It just made me feel like I belonged.

And actually, that’s quite a big thing.

Today started at the clinic with a menopause massage, then it was off to Coffee & Co-Working, surrounded by other people getting on with their businesses, before heading back to the clinic again.

And today’s hair just felt right for all of it.

It made me feel productive.
Put together.
Businesslike.

Or “businessly”, which apparently is a word now because I’ve just invented it. 😂

I even sorted my proper email signature today, and there was something about sending an email and seeing my name, my business and all my details sitting neatly underneath it that made me think…

Look at you.

Doing business things. 😂

A few days ago I talked about how there were once rooms I wouldn’t have walked into because I didn’t feel like I belonged there.

Today I walked into Ely Work Collective for Coffee & Co-Working with other business owners and didn’t question it.

I belonged there.

I didn’t need to be the loudest person in the room.
I didn’t need to feel spectacular.
I didn’t need anybody else to tell me I was good enough to be there.

I just knew.

And maybe that’s another kind of confidence.

Some days your hair makes you feel sexy.
Some days it makes you feel glamorous.
Some days it makes you feel bold.

And some days it simply does exactly what you need it to do…

It helps you walk into the room feeling like you have every right to be there. 💜

Tuesday in the clinic… and apparently there are stages. 😂💜

9am: Today’s going to be a lovely calm day.

A few treatments later…

☕ Coffee has become purely decorative.
🥪 You suddenly realise you haven’t eaten.
🦶 Your feet have officially left the group chat.

And then comes my favourite bit…

“Same time in two weeks?” 🥰

Because however busy the day gets, I genuinely love what I do — especially those little moments when somebody gets off the couch and says:

“I didn’t realise how much I needed that.”

That bit never gets old. 💜
