🌿 What if the skin isn’t the only place we should be looking?

One of the reasons Ruth came to EternalBeing was because her eczema existed alongside significant digestive symptoms.

She had bloating, cravings, migraines, poor energy and disrupted sleep.

Rather than assuming these were unrelated problems, we wanted to understand more about what was happening internally.

Ruth underwent a microbiome test, helping us explore patterns within her digestive environment and giving us more information to personalise her support.

Her programme brought together:

🌿 Microbiome testing
🌿 Colonic hydrotherapy
🌿 Personalised dietary changes
🌿 Skin-care support
🌿 CBD
🌿 Ongoing monitoring and adjustment

A microbiome test does not diagnose eczema, and Ruth’s experience does not mean gut support will produce the same outcome for everyone.

But her journey demonstrates something we believe strongly at EternalBeing:

Look at the person — not just the symptom.

🌿 Ruth’s Story: When Eczema Was Affecting Everything

When Ruth came to EternalBeing, eczema was only part of the picture.

She was also struggling with:

• severe skin flare-ups
• bloating
• migraines
• food cravings
• disrupted sleep
• very low energy
• long-term steroid use

She felt as though her symptoms were being managed individually, but nobody was stepping back and looking at the whole picture.

So that’s where we started.

We looked at Ruth’s gut health, diet, skin-care routine, symptoms and wider wellbeing together.

Her personalised plan included colonic hydrotherapy, microbiome testing, dietary support, skin-care support and CBD.

What followed was not an easy journey.

But Ruth’s determination would eventually produce an update that made us smile from ear to ear. ❤️

Over the next few posts, we’ll share Ruth’s journey — including the difficult parts, the photographs and what happened to her skin and hair over time.

STEVE NOW | FRANCE 2026

This photograph means far more to us than an “after” picture.

It is Steve and Michelle together in France in 2026.

Travelling.
Making plans.
Enjoying life.
Looking forward.

All things that, during the darkest months of 2024, Steve genuinely feared might be taken away.

Today Steve is 10 stone lighter, training regularly and continuing to work towards becoming stronger.

He lives with MS.

There is another stone he would like to lose.

There are still challenges.

And his journey isn’t finished.

But the direction has changed.

Steve is also now one of EternalBeing’s senior practitioners, working alongside Michelle as a colonic hydrotherapist and ozone practitioner.

His own experiences have shaped the practitioner he has become.

He understands what it feels like when your digestion controls your day.

He understands what it feels like to lose confidence in your body.

He understands fear, weight struggles, reduced mobility and having to start again.

That lived experience is something he now carries with him when supporting other people through their own journeys at EternalBeing.

For Michelle, there is perhaps an even simpler way of describing everything that has happened:

She got her husband back.

And for Steve:

His story is no longer simply about fighting for his life. It is about building the life he fought to keep.

❤️

Are you eating more protein but finding your digestion has become worse?

Proteinmaxxing has become one of the biggest nutrition trends, with high-protein versions of almost everything now appearing in our shops and social feeds.

Protein itself is essential.

And if you exercise regularly, want to build muscle or maintain muscle as you age, your protein requirements may genuinely be higher.

But there is an important gut-health side to the trend.

When people start increasing protein, they often eat more:

Chicken, eggs, cheese, Greek yoghurt, protein shakes, bars and puddings.

At the same time, they sometimes eat fewer:

Vegetables, fruits, wholegrains, beans, lentils and other fibre-rich foods.

That can leave someone with an impressive protein intake — but very little fibre.

Then constipation, bloating, wind and difficult bowel movements appear.

The important point is:

Protein itself is not automatically constipating.

Often, we need to look at what changed around it.

Are you eating enough fibre?

Are you drinking enough?

Are you relying heavily on protein bars and shakes?

Are you still eating a good variety of plant foods?

What do your stools actually look like?

Our latest EternalBeing blog takes a deeper look at Proteinmaxxing, constipation, fibre, hydration, muscle gain and the gut microbiome.

Because you shouldn’t have to choose between supporting your muscles and supporting your gut.

WHEN SURVIVING BECAME REBUILDING

Steve’s transformation wasn’t only happening on the scales.

During the period surrounding his incorrect cancer diagnosis and the medication he received at that time, Steve experienced significant hair loss.

It became another visible reminder of a period when he genuinely believed he might not have a future.

As Steve lost weight, became more active and rebuilt his strength, he reached another milestone.

In October 2025, he underwent hair restoration surgery.

For Steve, this wasn’t simply about hair.

It was about confidence.

It was about recognising himself again.

And it was about being able to make plans for his future instead of preparing for the possibility that he might not have one.

In 2026, after losing 10 stone, Steve was also able to undergo further surgery to address physical changes following his major weight loss.

Another chapter.

Another step forward.

You’ve been told to eat more fibre for constipation — so why are you now even more bloated and backed up?

The current fibremaxxing trend has put fibre firmly back in the spotlight.

And that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

UK adults are advised to aim for around 30g of fibre per day, and many people don’t currently reach that amount.

But more isn’t automatically better.

If you suddenly increase your fibre intake — especially with lots of bran, seeds, psyllium, beans or fibre supplements — your digestive system may need time to adapt.

For some people, particularly those already struggling with a sluggish bowel, it can mean more bloating, wind, abdominal pressure and discomfort.

That’s why we need to look at more than a fibre number.

What type of fibre are you eating? Are you drinking enough? What does your stool look like? Are you straining? Do you feel completely emptied? Is your bowel transit slow?

Our latest EternalBeing article looks at all of this, including soluble and insoluble fibre, psyllium husks, hydration, the gut microbiome and why constipation isn’t always caused by a lack of fibre.

10 STONE LOST. ONE MORE TO GO. BUT THE REAL GOAL NOW IS STRENGTH.

Steve has now lost a total of 10 stone.

Clinically supervised prescription weight-management treatment helped support that part of his journey, alongside wider changes to his nutrition, lifestyle, emotional wellbeing and activity.

But Steve never viewed medication as the whole answer.

As his weight came down, moving became easier.

As movement became easier, he became more active.

And as his confidence and physical capacity returned, he started challenging himself again in the gym.

Steve has set himself a further target of losing one more stone.

But he talks increasingly about something else:

Getting stronger.

He isn’t simply trying to make his body smaller anymore.

He is trying to build a body that helps him keep moving forward while living with MS.

DEVIN’S STORY | IBS-D, SEVERE ECZEMA & GETTING HIS CONFIDENCE BACK

When Devin came to EternalBeing, he was struggling with IBS-D and severe eczema affecting areas including his face and beard line, neck, elbows and knees.

But the impact went far beyond his skin.

At its worst, Devin became very conscious of how he looked. His confidence dropped and he often didn’t want to go out or socialise. The unpredictability of his digestion was affecting everyday life too.

His personalised support at EternalBeing included:

• Colonic hydrotherapy
• Gut biome testing
• Personalised nutrition support
• A tailored skincare regime
• Ongoing monitoring and guidance

In Devin’s own words:

“My digestion is so much better now, and my skin has improved massively compared to where I was before. But I think the biggest change for me has been getting my confidence back.”

For Devin, this was never simply about clearer-looking skin.

It was about feeling more comfortable in himself again.

❤️ Thank you, Devin, for allowing us to share your journey.

“USE IT OR LOSE IT. YOU NEED TO FIGHT TO GET FIT.”

After Steve was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in January 2025, these words from his neurologist stayed with him.

They became a turning point.

Steve began thinking differently about movement.

Exercise was no longer simply about losing weight or changing how he looked.

It became about doing what he could to maintain movement, physical capacity and independence.

His wider programme evolved too.

Steve worked on his digestive health, nutrition and emotional wellbeing. He began trauma therapy and received clinically supervised prescription weight-management support.

He also chose to include complementary wellbeing approaches as part of his personal routine while continuing appropriate medical follow-up for MS.

Slowly, the weight began to move.

Then Steve began to move more.

And eventually, he went back to the gym.

The man who once had to learn to walk again was now training to become stronger.

Steve’s experience is individual to him. Complementary therapies do not replace conventional MS care or medical monitoring.

2023–2024 | STEVE AT HIS HEAVIEST

By 2023, Steve describes himself as being at his heaviest.

In 2024 he was approximately 26 stone.

By then, his weight was affecting much more than appearance.

Movement was harder.

Confidence had fallen.

His relationship with his own body had changed.

Even while helping clients at EternalBeing, Steve sometimes struggled with self-doubt and imposter syndrome.

Then his health story took an unexpected and frightening turn.

In September 2024, Steve was told he had a rare blood cancer.

By October, he genuinely believed he was dying and had to sit down with his children and have conversations no parent ever expects to have.

Further investigations eventually established that the original cancer diagnosis was incorrect.

But the experience changed Steve forever.

A few months later came another diagnosis:

Multiple Sclerosis.
