🌟Private Blood Testing Available🌟

🩸Take Control of Your Health – Don’t Wait Until You Feel Unwell 🩸

Many health conditions develop quietly, with few or no symptoms in the early stages. Feeling tired, lacking energy, struggling to concentrate or simply “not feeling yourself” could be caused by something that a simple blood test can identify.

At Lisbellaw Medical Hall, we offer a range of convenient point-of-care blood tests with results available in as little as 15 minutes, helping you take control of your health sooner.

Our tests can help check for:
✅️Vitamin D deficiency
✅️ Iron deficiency
✅️Folate levels
✅️Cortisol levels (stress)
✅️Cholesterol
✅️Blood glucose (diabetes screening)
✅️hCG (pregnancy)

Knowing your numbers means you can:
🔵Detect potential problems early
🔵Make informed lifestyle changes
🔵Discuss results with your GP if needed
🔵Gain peace of mind about your health

Your health is one of your greatest investments. Don’t wait until symptoms become a problem—take a proactive approach and discover what’s happening inside your body.

Fast. Accurate. Convenient. Because prevention and early detection can make all the difference.

£39 per test, 2 for £70 or 3 for £90

Private blood glucose testing now avalable 🩸

What does an HbA1C test measure?
HbA1c is a quick test that shows you your average blood sugar over the last 2-3 months and is therefore useful for monitoring glucose control and health.

How often should I have my HbA1C tested?
Typical every 6-12 months for diabetics and annually for those considered to be at risk (pre-diabetics)

Why might my HbA1c levels be high?
Persistently elevated blood glucose levels, often influenced by diet, weight, physical activity, and metabolic health

Can I lower my HbA1c naturally?
Yes. Regular exercise, a balanced diet low in sugar, and maintaining a healthy weight can help improve blood glucose control

What do my HbA1c results mean?
Below 42 mmol/mol is normal: maintain a healthy lifestyle
>42 mmol/mol and >/ 48mmol/mol indicates pre-diabetes : focus on weight loss and dietary adjustments, retest in 3-6 months
48 mmol/mol or higher may indicate diabetes: requires a repeat lab test for confirmation and GP advice

Vitamin D 🦷🦴

Vitamin D helps regulate the amount of calcium and phosphate in the body.

These nutrients are needed to keep bones, teeth and muscles healthy.

From about late March or early April to the end of September, most people should be able to make all the vitamin D they need from sunlight.

The body creates vitamin D from direct sunlight on the skin when outdoors.

But between October and early March we do not make enough vitamin D from sunlight.

Vitamin D is also found in a small number of foods.

Sources include:

oily fish – such as salmon, sardines, trout, herring or mackerel
red meat
egg yolks
fortified foods – such as some fat spreads and breakfast cereals
liver (avoid liver if you're pregnant – find out about foods to avoid in pregnancy)
Another source of vitamin D is dietary supplements.

In the UK, cows' milk is generally not a good source of vitamin D because it is not fortified, as it is in some other countries.
