July is now just a memory. A strange month, but one that has left me with more gratitude than I can ever put into words.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to my amazing husband, our five beautiful humans, my beautiful mum and fab sister, my closest family, and my closest friends. I feel so incredibly lucky to have you all by my side.
I started July knowing I had cancer—words I never imagined would apply to me. I think, deep down, we all believe we're somehow invincible... until life reminds us otherwise.
Within just a few weeks, I had surgery, the cancer was removed, and then came the phone call I had been hoping for: they got it all. No further treatment needed.
The whole experience has felt surreal, like watching someone else's life unfold instead of my own. I know how fortunate I am that it was caught so early, and my heart goes out to those whose journeys are far more difficult. Cancer affects every person differently, and I don't take my outcome for granted for a second.
I'm still processing everything that's happened, and I know that healing isn't just physical. As I rebuild myself, I'll be making self-care a priority—something so many of us put to the bottom of the list until life forces us to move it to the top.
So, this is your reminder to slow down. Check in with yourself. Listen to your body. Make time for you. You matter, too. That may be the greatest lesson this experience has taught me.
I welcome August as a month of healing, nurturing myself and my family, and allowing myself to be looked after for a little while longer.
I also want to say a heartfelt thank you to every client who has supported Kerry Donaghy Reflexology throughout my first two years in business. I feel incredibly privileged that you've trusted me to be part of your wellbeing journey. I truly can't wait to welcome you back into my treatment room when the time is right.
Here's to August, to healing, to gratitude, and to moving onwards and upwards. 🤍
