Today we celebrated culture day. We celebrated Onam with the first day of making a pookalam (floral rangoli) the carers and nurses showed us their vital and lifestyle team were dressed in their traditional dress of saris. Residents really enjoyed seeing us and learning about the culture. We look forward to more culture days.

A busy fun day today. First this morning we took some residents to Nonsuch Park,for a picnic, looking around the gardens and making friends with a friendly fox who liked our food and milk. We then were entertained by the fantastic James Kemp Mack Entertainment in the courtyard. Singing and dancing. The energy and enthusiasm was so catching. A great day had by everyone.

This week we had the fabulous animals from Browells Wood Pet Therapy Mack Entertainment visit us. We got to meet 2 year old Perry the miniature pony who everyone adored. She was so well behaved. We also had cuddles with kittens, rabbits, guinea pigs and Princess Peach the chicken who enjoyed rides on the back of Perry. Animals visiting care homes is so important and the smiles prove this.

Today we held our Taste of Home food festival with foods from Italy - pizza, China - chinese and noodles and England - cakes. Entertainment from Kate singing for us. Residents, families and friends had an enjoyable afternoon. Herbs and plants that had been planted by residents where given away. Recycled bunting made by residents bought colour to the home and courtyard
