1 — Consistent growth trend, not perfect numbers
Percentiles jump.
Measurements vary.
But when the trend stays steady — even with small ups and downs — it’s one of the strongest signs baby is developing beautifully.
It’s the pattern, not the single measurement.
2 — Healthy fluid + placenta support
Most mums never get told this:
Growth isn’t just about size.
It’s about whether baby has the right environment to grow.
Good fluid levels + a well‑functioning placenta = thriving baby, even if they’re measuring “small” or “big”.
3 — Strong, clear movements during the scan
Not just kicks — but coordinated movements.
Flexing. Turning. Practising breathing.
These are neurological development signs that don’t show up on a chart… but every sonographer watches closely.
When baby is active and responsive, it’s a powerful indicator of healthy growth.
Most mums only hear the percentile.
But these are the signs that actually matter.
