The shared car park for Buckshaw Village Surgery will see the introduction of controlled parking with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) in operation.

Parking is available for patients and staff only, and only when on the premises.

Please note the car park is managed by external company Ezee Park, and the company is not responsible for enforcement and cannot get involved in parking appeals. Therefore, when visiting the surgery patients should follow the instructions listed on the signage in the car park and enter their registration number on the handsets located in the waiting room tonavoid being issued with a fine.

This is a shared car park with the Community Centre, where separate arrangements should be followed for that facility.

Women who have not attended cervical screening appointments will from this week be offered free HPV self-testing kits.
The NHS scheme is intended to encourage more women to complete their potentially lifesaving screening.
Once used, the self-testing kit is posted back to the NHS for free, and if high-risk HPV is found, individuals will be invited to book a follow-up cervical screening appointment with their GP.
Eligible women will receive invitations to order the kit via the NHS App, text message, email or letter.

Coming up shortly, ‘Know Your Numbers! Week,’ which runs from September 7-13, is a national event encouraging everyone to check their blood pressure.
High blood pressure can have no obvious symptoms but if it remains untreated, it can increase your risk of heart disease, heart attack and stroke.
Your pharmacy can check your blood pressure and advise you, and if a GP appointment is needed, contact your surgery.
