Onaya Science is a non-profit organisation focused on investigating the therapeutic potential of Amazonian plant medicines. Working alongside Shipibo curanderos, our team of scientists and collaborative laboratories continues to expand as we develop new experiments. Studying the healing remedies of the past enables us to provide data which may help inform the current scientific paradigm, helping d

evelop novel treatments from ancient wisdom. Data is published in a number of scientific journals and has received growing media attention, our last study being featured in Forbes. Dr spoke to Dr , Assistant Professor in the Graduate Program for Science, Technology, and Society at Bar-Ilan University, and one of the leading contemporary thinkers on psychedelic set and setting.

Dr Ido Hartogsohn’s research explores how context profoundly shapes psychedelic experience. Together, Simon and Ido trace the historical development of the concepts of set and setting, from their mid-20th-century origins through to their place in today’s therapeutic renaissance, and consider how different different eras have framed psychedelics: from 1950s ideas of optimization and performance to the contemporary focus on trauma and mental health.

They also explore the idea of “collective set and setting”: The broader cultural narratives, media environments, and shared expectations that shape individual experience, and how intention itself is never purely personal but always formed in relation to the worlds we inhabit. Drawing on his background in Science and Technology Studies and media ecology, Dr Ido Hartoghsohn offers parallels between digital media environments and psychedelic environments, and how both can be understood as mind-shaping technologies.

This is a conversation about maturity in psychedelic culture, the responsibilities of researchers and practitioners, and what it might mean to take seriously the subtle architectures that shape both individual and collective experience.

🌿Dr. WaiFung Tsang joined Lynn-Marie Morski MD, JD on the Psychedelic Medicine Podcast for a conversation exploring psychedelics and neurodiversity, discussing how concepts such as autism, ADHD, and neurodivergence are understood differently across clinical, cultural, and ceremonial contexts.

The discussion explored how many traditional ayahuasca practices may already contain elements that are naturally supportive of neurodivergent experiences, including sensory awareness, relational structure, and collective forms of support.

The episode also touched on emerging perspectives around autistic sensory processing and psychedelic states, early discussions surrounding psychedelics and ADHD, the role of M**A and other compounds in social connection and social anxiety, and the importance of creating more accessible, sensory-informed psychedelic spaces that may ultimately improve care and safety for all participants.

Bridging worlds with humility & respect 🌿

The Dr Colloquium brought together academia, traditional Indigeneity, science, ceremony, and community in the true spirit of reciprocity, inclusivity and openness.

What felt deeply meaningful was the shared commitment to approaching this work with humility rather than authority, honouring traditional knowledge keepers and the sacredness of ceremony and how these interdisciplinary threads aren’t separate conversations, but deeply interconnected. It was a beautiful merging of paradigms between , , and .io, and hopefully the first of many collaborations and ongoing relationships to come!

Thank you again Adana for sharing your wisdom. We are so grateful to be part of conversations exploring the integrated and interdisciplinary approaches to healing, care, and human connection. 💚

“Right relationship is collective, cultural, and honouring of all life. It is not ever individual, exclusive, or extractive.

So again, another thing we can reflect on is asking ourselves: how am I in right relationship with this knowledge? How am I in right relationship with the land in which I share this work?

And how am I in right relationship with the spirit of the plant kin, these medicines, and the original knowledge holders?

When we ask ourselves these questions, it’s so important that we are able to sit and truly listen deeply to the answers that come. Because when we are connected, and we listen deeply, usually we know which is the right way to go.

That ongoing respect and advocacy is an important thing that we can bring into this work. Just because things have gone a certain way for a long time, it doesn’t mean that we have to continue that way.

Every single one of us has an opportunity to make change in every step that we take in this field - and in all areas of our lives.” 🌿

A six-month, multidisciplinary training designed to bring different knowledge systems into genuine dialogue - from Indigenous ceremonial practices to clinical research, neuroscience, risk assessment, integration, and beyond. 🌎

Rooted in embodied practice, the training follows the arc of a ceremonial process over 5 modules: foundations and ethics, preparation, navigation, integration, and intersections. ✨

There is so much to learn from one another. Watching Dr and share this moment was a reminder that when we approach with curiosity and humility, the learning moves both ways - cosmologies in dialogue. 🤝

Last week we welcomed Dr to the UK for a special very special in-person gathering hosted by the Transdisciplinary Psychedelic Colloquium, and it was an afternoon we’ll carry with us for a long time.

This colloquium brought together an incredible community of curious, open-hearted people for a special conversation, weaving science and tradition to help us better understand psychedelic parenthood.

A huge, heartfelt thank you to Adana for so generously sharing her knowledge, wisdom, and lived experience with us all. Her presence, insight, openness and light-heartedness filled the room with so much joy, and truly made this event equally as meaningful as educational.

And a special shout out to Felipe for his exceptional translation work, making this knowledge accessible to everyone in the room. He had a natural knack for translating the feeling in her message and we couldn’t have done it without you.

The turnout was amazing and the feedback has been so warm and positive, and we’re grateful for every single person who showed up and engaged so openly.

We have lots of wonderful content from the event to share with you all so stay tuned!
