🌺I LEFT JAMAICA AT 21. WHY COME BACK NOW?.🇯🇲
Last time I wrote to you, I told you the big news.
I’m coming home.🏝
After decades in England, TWLT Spinal Flow Jamaica is coming to Montego Bay.
Here is the question I get most often
🌺Why? Why now?
Because this isn’t simply a woman packing up her belongings and moving countries, because to say the least, I’ve moved enough times.
This however is the closing of a circle that started when I left Jamaica at age 21. And looking back now, I realise something.🏝
🌺I wasn’t only leaving Jamaica. I think part of me was running away. I had grown up carrying a lot. Physical and emotional abuse and trauma from a young age. Growing up without my father and all the wounds that came with that.
I knew how to survive but I didn’t yet know how to feel safe. I got married ,left Jamaica and started a new life.🏝
I became a mother to my beautiful daughter, and when she was three, her father and I separated. We tried again but it didn’t work and eventually I went out on my own. At the time, I was studying to become a chiropractor while raising my daughter and somehow figuring out how to keep everything moving.
🌺And I am sure you understand it when I say… “life LIFED…”
Relationships came and went. Money came and somehow disappeared. There were times I earned plenty and still couldn’t seem to create financial stability. At one point I even experienced homelessness.
There were highs when I thought, “Yes! Finally, I’ve got this.” And then…
BOOM.
Down I’d go again.
SPLAT.
🌺It felt like living on a rollercoaster out of control that I couldn’t quite get off.
And for years I thought the circumstances were the problem. The relationship, the money, the person, the situation, the next crisis. I was anxious and irritable.🙏🏾
It took me years to understand that although the scenery kept changing, I was the constant common factor travelling through all of it. Something inside me wasn’t settled.
🌺I searched for peace, so revised my relationship with God, in a much deeper way. Not only from something somebody told me from a pulpit or from a book I read. I wanted to KNOW.
I wanted my own deep unshakable relationship. My own connection with God, with the Universe, with Source, with the intelligence behind all of life and beyond. And the deeper I went, the more peace, the more love, the more life I discovered.
Primarily, through deep daily meditations, I started coming back to myself. 🧘🏾♀️
The more stress I released, the safer I began to feel inside my own body. The noise started quietening. The fear loosened. And underneath all of that survival, there was somebody I hadn’t properly met before.
Me.
🌺Joy started rising. Not the pretend “everything is wonderful today” kind of happiness. Real joy. Quiet joy. The kind that doesn’t need somebody else to behave properly before you can feel it.
And then came love.
For the first time, I began understanding what loving myself actually meant.
And with that, everything changed. What I deserved changed, what I accepted changed, what I tolerated changed, my relationships changed, my boundaries changed. And strangely enough, the more I learned to love myself, the greater my capacity became to genuinely love other people.💜
🌺And through all of this, there was my daughter. She became one of my greatest reasons to keep doing the inner work. I didn’t want her to inherit my wounds as her instruction manual for life. I couldn’t guarantee that she would never experience heartbreak, rejection, disappointment or difficult relationships.
That’s life.
But I could show her something I hadn’t understood when I was young: how to find her way back to herself, how to know her worth, how to recognise what isn’t right for her, how to leave when necessary, how to love herself and how to find peace again.🦋
With this growth and transformation, I realised something exciting...
🌺If I could learn, could also teach it. I could Mentor others going through similar pathways.
That’s when my work began evolving.
I had already spent more than 20 years as a chiropractor, studying and working with the human body and nervous system✨
But I wanted to understand what happened beneath the physical symptoms.
Why do we repeat patterns we KNOW aren’t good for us?
🌺Why can an intelligent, successful person understand something consciously and still feel completely unable to change it?
Why does trauma continue influencing us years after the event has finished?
So I trained in Rapid Transformational Therapy and Clinical Hypnotherapy, going deeper into subconscious beliefs, emotional patterns and the stories we carry without even realising we’re carrying them.
🌺Then came the Grow2Glow Ascension Pathway.
That was born from my own journey and from working with women who were tired of living on emotional fumes.
Women struggling with relationships.
Money.
Confidence.
Self-worth.
Boundaries.
Purpose.
Women who didn’t need another person telling them to “work harder.”
They needed to understand what was driving them from underneath.
🌺Grow2Glow became about showing women that there is another way to live with
Less forcing.
Less fighting.
Less abandoning yourself in the pursuit of success.👑
And ironically, when we stop wasting enormous amounts of energy fighting ourselves, we often have far more energy available to actually CREATE the life we want.
🌺And then Spinal Flow, graciously, another piece clicked into place.
I had spent decades working with the spine, years working with the subconscious mind and studying my own patterns, stress, healing and transformation. Now here is a technique based around something I already understood deeply, the intelligence of the body and nervous system.
Spinal Flow allowed me to continue working with people physically without the force and physical demand of traditional chiropractic adjusting. It also allowed me to work even more deeply on myself.♒️
And my own body was telling me very clearly that it was time for that evolution too.
🌺Twenty-plus years of chiropractic is a reasonably long time and I still love it. However my hands, joints and body have done their shift.
I’m listening.
And now I ready for the next chapter. Which brings me back Home.
My mom is there, my family and my roots are there. And after being away for more than three decades, something inside me has been pulling me home.🏝
Not running this time.
Returning.
What an inspiring difference.
And yes, let me just say dis…THE WEATHER!🌨
🌺England, I love you, you’ve allowed me opportunities to hide when I needed to, to educated myself, to be challenged, to grow, I have received from you beautiful friendships, experiences, a career and an extraordinary life.
I am deeply grateful.
But mi done wid di cold. 😉
I want sunshine now, I want warmth in my bones, I want Jamaica, I want my mother, I want my family, I want my culture, I want to experience some of what I’ve missed during those 30-plus years away (if that's even possible). I want home.
🌺And most importantly, I want to bring something back. Because the woman returning to Jamaica is not the 21-year-old who left. She couldn’t possibly have brought this home.
She hadn’t lived it yet, she hadn’t learned, healed or grown enough yet. She hadn’t become me yet.
But she started the journey.🧚🏾♀️
And now, all these years later, I’m bringing home everything that journey she started taught me.
🌺The chiropractor.
🌺The RTT Practitioner.
🌺The Clinical Hypnotherapist.
🌺The Lifestyle Ascension Coach.
🌺The Author.
🌺The Spinal Flow Practitioner.
🌺The Mother.
🌺The Daughter
🌺The Goddess
The woman who fell down plenty of times and always got back up.
All of her is coming home.
And perhaps that’s what homecoming really means. Not simply returning to where you started. But returning as the person all those years away helped you become.🥰
I am always about growth and ascension, and I am excited as I have much to share.
Jamaica, I’ll see you soon. 🇯🇲
And trust me… we av nuff nice tings fi do.
With love,
