"Thats better, you just needed more weight"

Just a reminder that drills are good... but we must be training at a worthwhile intensity (load in this case) to be making fruitful gains...

HEY JONNY - NICE GLUTES BTW ###

If you don’t use it, you lose it.

Elaine, at 70, is a brilliant example of exactly why staying active matters. 💃

Elaine first got in touch with me before having her knee replacement in September 2024. She’d already trained for most of her life and had always been active, but with both a hip and knee replacement behind her, she knew how important it was to keep moving, keep building strength and keep investing in what her body could do.

What strikes me most about Elaine isn’t just her fitness it’s her attitude.

She understands that staying strong and active is what allows her to stay mobile, feel good and, most importantly, continue doing the things she loves.

She’s always been someone who enjoys getting out there from hiking to one of her absolute favourites… dancing & going out to gigs. ❤️

She stays in touch with me about her training, and if she feels herself slipping into a bit of a mental slump or losing momentum, she recognises it and gets herself back in for some more frequent sessions.

That mindset is powerful.

The other day, Elaine sent me a video of herself dancing and I genuinely felt so proud watching it.

At 70 years old, after a hip replacement AND a knee replacement, there she was absolutely going for it dancing like nobody was watching.

And she looked incredible.

There was such youth in her movement, her energy and the way she carried herself. You could see how much she was enjoying simply being able to MOVE.

And that, for me, is what training is really about.

It’s not just about what you can lift in the gym or what you look like.

It’s about protecting your ability to live your life.

To get out.
To move.
To dance.
To travel.
To walk.
To enjoy yourself.
To keep doing the things that make you you.

Getting older doesn’t mean we should stop moving.

If anything, it gives us even more reason to keep going.

Elaine, you’re an absolute inspiration lady...keep dancing like nobody’s watching. ALWAYS!!!💃🔥

Big ❤️ to my dude alex. Hitting 175kg and 185kg deadlift in the past 12 months are some amazing numbers since starting training back in 2022.

Hes taken his SBD total to over 1000lbs from this 10kg pb!

The past couple months weve been pushing his cardio more as he needed to complete a fitness test for what is hopefully a fruitful career (smashed it)

Looking forward to knuckling back down into another push on his back squat this autumn!

Big shout to my lady

Back in hitting consistent sessions after having to have a little break. Turning up and giving it her all 🙏🏼💯

Building confidence, encouraging her to pick up and put down heavier things progressively!

We have to remember when its shape we want.. its our muscle that give us that!

Any females looking to build confidence in a quiet gym space, i have a couple slots availible. Come and build some good foundations over the next couple months 🙏🏼

Huge respect to Gareth 👏

5 kids. A busy work schedule. Life doesn't stop.

Not everyone can make fitness their number one priority, especially in summer holidays going away and that's okay. The goal is to make it fit around your life not the other way around.

Gareth had a holiday with the lads last week and worked hard to lean up beforehand. Before he left, he asked:

"How am I going to not lose it while I'm away?"

Keep moving, and get your first workout done on Day 1.
That way you never fall out of your routine.

The hotel gym wasn't exactly amazing... but you don't need fancy equipment to maintain your progress. A basic full-body workout, a run, or even 20-30 minutes of push-ups, planks, squats and lunges is enough to keep the momentum going.

Remember, 30 minutes a day adds up to around 3 hours of training across the week. That's more than enough for a bit of damage control while you're enjoying poolside beers, eating out and making memories.

A few simple tips for staying on track over summer:
☀️ Get your workout done early before the day gets away from you.
🥩 Prioritise protein at every meal.
💧 Stay hydrated especially if you're in the sun or drinking alcohol.
🚶 Walk as much as you can. Sightseeing and beach walks all count.
🍦 Enjoy the treats without feeling guilty just don't let one meal turn into a whole week of bad choices.

Gareth came back, trained today, stayed in rhythm, and looked like he hadn't gained any body fat at all. That's a massive win. 💪

Now the next challenge... another trip to France with the girls next week! 😅

If we can get through around three weeks of holidays while maintaining body fat and staying consistent, that's a huge success. Progress isn't about being perfect it's about staying in the game.
