You’ve probably done a bridge exercise at some point.

The standard bridge is a good starting point, but it’s not doing much for the actual strength you need when you’re running.

Here’s how Laura levels it up for runners, from beginner to advanced:

→ Level 1: legs up on a sofa or stool, straight line from shoulders to knees, slow up and down
→ Level 2: all the way up, halfway down, back up, all the way down
→ Level 3: add a knee drive and opposite arm, running-specific position
→ Level 4: same knee drive, no hands on the floor

Each level builds more glute, hamstring and lower back strength in the position your body’s actually in when you run.

Try it and let us know which level you land on 👇

Follow along for more running-specific strength tips.

Dan & I made the trip up to Manchester for the inaugural UK Climbing Injury Symposium, where I was presenting on Spinal Bone Stress Injuries in Youth Climbers.

Having worked with many of these people remotely over the years, it was brilliant to finally meet everyone in person and spend a full day learning together.
So many excellent clinicians in one room. Thanks for having us!

13 years ago, Quay Kinetics Physio opened its doors in Exeter with one goal: help people get back to the sport and life they love, properly.

13 years, two venues, and a team of specialist Physios later, that goal hasn’t changed. Thank you to every patient who’s trusted us with their recovery. Here’s to the next 13. Aim Higher. Get Better. 💙

🌊 What do physiotherapists do on their day off?

Apparently... race each other around Exeter Quay! 😅

Last Sunday our Quay Kinetics Physio team swapped the treatment rooms for the water, thanks to the brilliant Mike Brown from Exeter Canoe Club, who put us through our paces with kayaking, sea kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding.

There was plenty of laughter, a little healthy competition (some of us were definitely more competitive than others... 👀), and a few very determined sprint races in the sea kayaks!

Days like this remind us why we love being based on Exeter Quay. We spend our working week helping people get back to the activities they enjoy, and so many of our patients are paddlers, kayakers, climbers, runners and outdoor enthusiasts who make the most of this amazing part of the city.

Whether you're training for an event, recovering from an injury, or just want to keep enjoying being active without pain, we're lucky to spend every day helping people do exactly that.

A huge thank you to Mike Brown for hosting such a brilliant afternoon. We had an absolute blast!

📸 We'll let the photos (and the kayak races!) tell the rest of the story...

Think you’ve got good foot control? Laura’s here to humble you 😅

This simple toe mobility challenge reveals a LOT about your foot strength, and it matters more than you’d think for running efficiency, injury prevention, and push-off power.

The challenge:
🦶 Lift your big toe while the other 4 stay flat
🦶 Now flip it, lift the 4 toes while the big toe stays down

Sounds easy. It’s not.

Drop a comment below, can you do one, both, or neither? No cheating 👀

Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo ( ) is a common peripheral vestibular disorder, particularly among older adults, and is caused by dislodged otolith particles within the semicircular canals.

Diagnosis relies on identifying transient, positionally triggered nystagmus using the Dix-Hallpike test.
