I am so incredibly excited to be running the great west run tomorrow for Westbank Community Health and Care.

Our gym is very special we work closely with doctors and physiotherapists offering a seamless pathway for patients referred to us. All donations will go directly to health and fitness enabling us to help more people in need. πŸŽ‰

WAYNE'S BIG 3 CHALLENGE UPDATE

I completed my first ever Triathlon yesterday. 400m pool swim , 24km hilly bike and 5km run undulating and uphill to start. Target time was 1hour 45 minutes was super pleased as did it in 1hour 28:30 approx
Splits were as follows …….

Swim 11:14
T1 - 3:52
Bike 47:38
T2 - 1:58
Run - 23:57

πŸŽ‰Huge congratulations to our incredibly fit Westbank gym member Zoe BerryπŸŽ‰

In 2023 I was due to do Hyrox doubles (an intense fitness event based on running and functional fitness), however, life changed and that didn't materialise...

I've always enjoyed training but I fell out of routine gained weight, lost muscle mass and had achilles tendonopathy so just walking was uncomfortable.

In January 2025, I refocused. I got back in to training, joined Westbank and have been going regularly since April last year.

I recently entered a similar event...Keltx. This is 7x800m runs with 7 functional fitness stations in between (bike, kettlebells, ski erg, lunges, rows, burpees, wallballs!!). Training paid off, I completed this with my doubles partner in April and the next challenge is mixed doubles (October).

Westbank has provided me a safe and sociable place to train …… we all have our reasons for being there, it’s a special place.

Everyone is showing up for themselves and smashing their own goals. Zoe
