👂As we approach the end of Deaf Awareness Week, make sure you take some time to understand what support is out there if you are concerned about your child’s hearing ability.

Children may be born with a degree of deafness or acquire permanent hearing loss during childhood due to illness or injury. Additionally, they may have temporary hearing difficulties associated with colds and congestion.

At Chime, we aim to identify hearing levels and supply appropriate advice, onward referral and intervention with hearing aids.

If you have concerns about your child’s hearing, do speak to your GP or Health Visitor who can refer your child to us for a hearing test and hearing services.

🎧Have you ever thought about wearing ear protection at a live music event?

A recent EDM poll has revealed 64% of people don’t wear ear protection at live events. Please bear in mind that 105-110db is the maximum volume level for most entertainment venues, but exposure to this level can cause hearing damage in less than five minutes!

🎸The loudest concert ever recorded was by Led Zeppelin on their “Heartbreaker” tour in 1969. The level reached 130db which was loud enough to cause immediate hearing loss!
