Stretching can absolutely feel good. It can reduce that sensation of tightness and give you some temporary relief.

But if the same area keeps feeling tight again and again, it can be worth asking why.

Sometimes the answer isn't that you need to stretch harder or more often. The sensation of tightness can be influenced by how you're using your body, load, movement patterns, protective muscle tension and a whole host of other factors.

That's why I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to massage. The aim isn't simply to make something feel looser for an hour — it's to understand what your body is telling you and work with it.

Your body sets the pace. 💙

If you're constantly stretching the same area but the tightness keeps coming back, it might be worth looking at what's driving it.

If you'd like to explore whether massage could help, send me a message or book an appointment via the link in my bio. 😊

Still stretching, rolling and digging into that “tight” muscle… only for the tightness to come back?

There might be more going on than simply a muscle being “short”.

Pain, irritation, fatigue, repetitive activity and joint instability can all influence how much tension your muscles are holding. And if you’re hypermobile, your muscles may be working harder to provide stability — which can leave you feeling surprisingly tight despite being very flexible.

Sometimes the answer isn't to stretch harder.
It might be about understanding why your body is holding that tension in the first place. 🤍

That’s where an individualised approach to bodywork can help — working with your body rather than trying to force it into feeling different.

Save this for the next time you find yourself endlessly stretching the same “tight” spot. 🌿

Ever feel like you're constantly stretching the same area, only for the tightness to come straight back?

Sometimes persistent tension isn't simply a case of a muscle needing to be stretched more. Your movement patterns, surrounding muscles and how your body is responding to load can all play a part.

That's why I don't believe in simply attacking the area that feels tight — I want to understand what's contributing to it. 💚

If you're dealing with stubborn tension that keeps coming back, send me a message or book online, link in my bio.

Nothing says more than hearing it from a client.

Helping people understand why they're in pain, not just treating it, is a huge part of how I work.

Thank you, Charlotte, for such a lovely review. 💚

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind.🤪

I've finished my teaching career, started filling my August diary and am now taking a couple of weeks to rest and reset before this next chapter begins.

Looking after your own wellbeing isn't a luxury—it's what allows you to keep showing up for everyone else.

I'll be back treating clients from 10th August and can't wait to welcome you to both the Gandy Street treatment room and my new clinic - more details coming soon 😉

See you soon 💚
