This week is Cervical Screening Awareness Week.

Cervical screening saves thousands of lives each year – and takes just around 10 minutes or less.

All women aged 25 to 64 are invited for cervical screening every 5 years. The test checks for cell changes in your cervix. Caught early, these can be treated before they become something more serious.

You’re in control throughout — you can ask questions, request a smaller speculum, try a different position, or pause or stop the test at any time.

Make your appointment when you get invited. Missed your last appointment? Contact us to book another.

Are You Supporting Someone Close To You?

Over the next week, we will be sending a message to our patients to help us identify unpaid carers.

A carer is anyone who helps or looks after a family member, friend or neighbour who would struggle to manage without support due to illness, disability, frailty, mental health needs, or addiction.

The message will contain information on how you can access free support from Devon Carers. If you are already identified on our system as a carer or live in a care home then you will not receive this message.

The Devon Carers will be at with us at Haldon House this Friday.

After every appointment an automated Friends and Family Test (FFT) gets sent to each patient via SMS. This is a contractual requirement that all GP practices undertake and the first 2 questions are set by NHS England. The FFT allows patients to provide feedback on their experience which can be used to improve our services.

Here are the latest comments from April - we really value your lovely feedback!

Our Patient Group have made a generous donation towards the purchase of a new gynaecological examination couch for the practice. The funds were raised through their Christmas draw, with thanks to the kindness and generosity of both patients and staff who supported the event.

The practice team are extremely grateful for their support, which will make a meaningful difference to patient care.
