Development isn't only about the classroom.

Some children struggle with balance, coordination, handwriting, sensory processing or everyday activities that other children seem to manage naturally.

These challenges can affect confidence, friendships and participation in school far more than people realise.

Our Occupational Therapy assessments help identify underlying difficulties and provide practical recommendations that support children both at school and at home, helping them become more confident and independent in everyday life.

Children learn just as much outside the classroom as they do inside it.

Playing, exploring, joining in with friends and trying new activities all help children develop confidence, resilience and important life skills.

When a child avoids these experiences because of anxiety, sensory differences or communication difficulties, it can have a lasting impact.

Understanding why they're struggling allows families and schools to provide the right support, helping children participate, build friendships and enjoy childhood without unnecessary barriers.

Growing older doesn't mean growing out of difficulties.

For many young people, secondary school brings new challenges. Increased independence, changing friendships, academic pressure and sensory demands can make previously hidden difficulties much more noticeable.

If your teenager seems anxious, exhausted after school, struggling socially or finding it harder to cope, it's worth exploring why.

Getting answers isn't about placing limits on your child. It's about giving them the understanding and support they need to move confidently into adulthood.

A little infographic to explain more about the cycle of autism and OCD, and the impact this cycle can have on daily life and education.

This information doesn’t replace medical or clinical evaluation, but can shed light on the pattern that you may be seeing as a SEN parent, from your SEN child.

If you are seeing this pattern from your child, we are here for you, and we can help!

On a personal level, my daughter is 10 years old and autistic; she experiences anxiety on a daily basis, we are starting to see OCD traits concerning hand-washing and germs. The cycle of her interaction between autism and OCD is worrying, but there are ways to support and manage through this part of their lives.

If you would like to book an Education Consultant appointment, please email Kelly at [email protected].

Not only do we approach situations from a professional perspective, but we also live and breathe many situations as our journey as SEN parents - we truly do get it.

This consultation isn't just for professionals.

The Department for Education is specifically asking for responses from:
• children and young people
• parents and carers
• schools
• local authorities
• health professionals
• charities
• organisations supporting SEND families.

Throughout the consultation, the Government repeatedly says it wants proposals to be shaped by the lived experiences of children, young people and parents.

Whether you've had a positive experience with EOTAS, found the process incredibly difficult, or feel there are things that need improving, this is an opportunity to share your perspective.

You don't need to be a legal expert.
You just need to explain your experience.
We'll soon be sharing a free plain-English guide to help parents understand the consultation before they respond.

We've already seen lots of worried parents asking:
"Is EOTAS ending?"

From reading the consultation, the answer is no.

The Government is proposing changes to how EOTAS could work from 2029/30, but EOTAS itself would continue to exist for children with the most complex needs who meet the eligibility criteria under the proposed new system.

It's also important to remember:
-Nothing changes immediately.

The current legal framework remains in place while the consultation is taking place and until any future legislation comes into force.

This consultation is about gathering views before decisions are made.
We'll continue explaining what is proposed, one step at a time.
