For many children and parents/caregivers, this week marks the start of back to school.

As with any change or transition, it is normal for us to experience feelings of worry, anxiety and uncertainty. We want children and parents/caregivers to know that these feelings are completely normal and valid.

If you or your child(ren) are feeling a bit anxious about the transition back to school, here are a few suggestions to support your and your children's wellbeing.

We hope everyone's return to school and the routines that come with it are smooth and settled. However, if you do feel like you're struggling, you don't have to face it alone. Speak to someone or reach out to FDAMH for help. 💚

Boundaries are just like barriers that protect our own wellbeing and comfort zones. They help decide what we what to accept, how we expect to be treated and how we interact with others.

Learning to set boundaries in all areas of our lives, whether that be in relationships, with ourselves or with our time can be uncomfortable and strange at first. As with any skill, it takes practise and confidence to develop it.

Over time we can learn to set and protect boundaries that are important to us. Healthy and open communication between ourselves and others about what our boundaries are can help prevent clashes and reduces anxiety and burnout.

Here are just a few boundaries we want respected - are there others you would add?
