🌟 A Busy, Bright Morning at Airthrey! 🌟

We had a truly special visit from the Nursery children, who joined our residents for a fun‑filled morning of creativity, laughter and messy hands.

The children had a go on the pottery wheel, carefully shaping their very own candle holders — a lovely hands‑on experience that everyone enjoyed. 🏺🕯️

There was plenty more creativity with Play‑Doh, using colourful stamps and cutters to make all sorts of shapes and designs. 🎨✨

It was wonderful to see residents and children side by side, chatting, concentrating, giggling and sharing the joy of making something together. Lots of smiles, lots of fun and a beautiful mix of generations coming together. ❤️

🐾 A Special Dog Day at Airthrey Care Home 🐾

There were plenty of smiles around Airthrey Care Home as we welcomed two very special visitors, Nalla and Luna, for our Dog Day celebration 🐶

Residents enjoyed spending time with our four-legged guests, giving them lots of attention and a few well-earned treats along the way.
Nalla and Luna quickly became the centre of attention as they made their way around the home, stopping for plenty of fuss and companionship.

Animal visits always spark conversation and bring people together, and it was lovely to see residents enjoying the opportunity to interact with such friendly visitors.

A big thank you to Nalla and Luna for spending the day with us.
They certainly made a lasting impression and helped make the afternoon one to remember❤️

🎨 Letting Creativity Bloom at Airthrey Care Home 🎨

A splash of colour and plenty of creativity has been brightening the day at Airthrey Care Home as residents get busy painting beautiful watercolour flowers

Using a variety of colours and techniques, residents have been exploring their artistic side, creating unique floral masterpieces and letting their imaginations flourish along the way 🌸

It has been lovely to see everyone enjoying the process, sharing ideas, and bringing their paintings to life one brushstroke at a time.
Each piece is a wonderful reflection of the creativity and individuality of the person who created it.

A relaxing and enjoyable activity, with some beautiful artwork to show for it ❤️

📸 Capturing the Beauty in Everyday Moments at Airthrey Care Home 📸

Residents at Airthrey Care Home recently enjoyed a creative photography session, taking a closer look at the world around them through the camera lens 📷

Exploring texture, colour, shapes, and even faces, residents discovered details in their surroundings that might otherwise have gone unnoticed.
Each person brought their own perspective to the activity, capturing unique images and seeing everyday spaces in a different way.

One particularly special moment came when resident Elsie looked at a photograph she had taken and quietly said, "Home Sweet Home." 🏡❤️

It was a simple comment, but one that perfectly captured the meaning behind the activity. Elsie's photograph wasn't about creating the perfect picture. Instead, it reflected a feeling, a memory, and a connection to a place that means so much to her.

The photographs were later brought together to create a wonderful collage, showcasing the creativity, individuality, and observations of everyone who took part.

It was a lovely reminder that sometimes the most meaningful moments can be found right on our doorstep, simply by taking the time to stop, look, and appreciate what's around us.

✨ India Day at Airthrey Care Home ✨

Residents enjoyed a fantastic day exploring the sights, sounds, flavours and traditions of India as we celebrated India Day at Airthrey Care Home.

The day began with henna tattoos, which proved incredibly popular, before residents tried their hand at some Indian-inspired dance moves. There was lots of enthusiasm and plenty of laughter as everyone got involved.

Our talented chef then treated residents to a delicious mild curry, followed by coconut treats and refreshing mango lassi, giving everyone the opportunity to sample some wonderful flavours from Indian cuisine.

Alongside the food and activities, residents learned more about India's rich culture and history, including the story behind The Jungle Book, the magnificent Taj Mahal, and some of the country's colourful festivals. The day finished with a creative session inspired by Uttarayan, the Indian Kite Festival, where residents decorated their own vibrant kites 🪁

It was a wonderful day of learning, creativity, conversation and shared experiences, bringing a little piece of India to Airthrey Care Home ❤️

☕ Highlights from Our Visit to the KitTea Café ☕

One of the highlights of our recent outing was watching our residents spend time with the café's playful feline residents at the KitTea Café.

Over tea and cake, residents enjoyed watching the cats climb, explore, and make themselves at home, with plenty of opportunities for a gentle cuddle and some one-to-one time with their furry companions 🐱🐾

For many, the visit sparked conversations about pets they have loved over the years, with lots of stories shared around the table as everyone relaxed and enjoyed the unique surroundings.

It's always lovely to see residents enjoying experiences that reflect their interests, and this outing was a perfect example.

A wonderful afternoon of good company, friendly faces, and a few new four-legged friends along the way.

🐾 A Purr-fect Afternoon Out for Cat Lovers at Airthrey Care Home 🐾

Some of our residents recently enjoyed a special outing to the KitTea Café, and it was a wonderful afternoon for everyone who loves spending time with cats 🐱

Over tea and cake, residents watched the cats play, climb, and explore their surroundings, with plenty of opportunities for a gentle cuddle and a fuss along the way 🐾

The café was the perfect setting to relax, chat, and enjoy the company of some furry friends, with lots of conversation sparked by shared memories of pets over the years.

A lovely afternoon spent in great company, enjoying a change of scenery and making the most of a unique experience together.

A Trip Down Memory Lane ✈️📸

Some old school photographs sparked plenty of conversation at Airthrey this week.

As residents looked back on their primary school days, memories of playground games, climbing trees and those familiar bottles of school milk soon came flooding back.

The conversation turned to the different subjects they enjoyed at school, including sewing and woodwork, which inspired everyone to put their practical skills to use by making their own wooden planes.

As the planes began to take shape, so did even more stories from years gone by. It was a lovely way to share experiences, reflect on childhood memories and enjoy time together at the home. 💙

✨ A Classic Afternoon at Airthrey Care Home – Part 3 ✨

We're sharing even more highlights from our fantastic visit with the Stirling Classic Car Club

The afternoon provided plenty of opportunities for residents and their families to explore the collection of classic vehicles, admire their unique features, and share stories inspired by the cars on display. From favourite models to memories of driving and family outings, there was no shortage of conversation

It was lovely to see residents spending time together, reminiscing, and enjoying such a unique community visit. The chance to get up close to the vehicles and learn more about their history made the experience even more memorable

A heartfelt thank you once again to the Stirling Classic Car Club for their generosity, enthusiasm, and for helping to create such an enjoyable afternoon for everyone at Airthrey Care Home. 💙

Sometimes the best afternoons are the ones that bring people together through shared interests, good conversation, and a few stories from years gone by.
