Did you know? CranioSacral Therapy uses an incredibly light touch.

In our training, we teach practitioners to begin with contact of around 5 grams - roughly the weight of a UK 20p coin.

Yes… really! 😮

It might seem counterintuitive. Surely more pressure means you can feel more?

But CST teaches practitioners to develop a very different way of using their hands.

Rather than pushing, forcing or trying to make the body change, we learn to listen.

Our hands become more like listening ears — gently connecting with the tissues and noticing subtle movements, tensions and changes.

And as your hands become more sensitive to what is happening beneath them, you may discover that you don’t need to do as much as you thought. We tend to see less effort, more listening and more following - a whole different type of impact.

It’s one of the first things you’ll explore when you begin learning Upledger CST.

Why don’t you try popping a 20p on the back of your hand, and see exactly what we mean? Or book in for training and treatments with us instead!

So, what do people actually seek CranioSacral Therapy for? A question we get asked quite a lot, and the list is not long enough!

CST is explored by people for many different reasons, from everyday stress and tension to headaches, discomfort, sleep difficulties and general wellbeing. It's explored from babies to 90+ year olds, CST really does reach a range of people.

There are also specialist areas of practice, including post-concussion support, where practitioners with appropriate training can work within their scope of practice.

Everyone's circumstances are different, so CST isn't a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. If you're experiencing ongoing or concerning symptoms, always seek appropriate medical advice.
