🌸 A Little Update from Our Activities Team 🌸

We have a little update from our Activities Team to share with you. Sadly, our lovely Activities Coordinator, Molly Stacey, will be leaving us, with her last day at the home being Tuesday 25th August.

Molly has made the very hard decision to leave us as she and her partner venture back to be closer to her family. While all of our residents and staff are incredibly sad to see her go, we completely understand how important family is and wish them both nothing but happiness and all the very best for the future. πŸ’•

Thankfully, it’s not completely goodbye! Molly has assured us that whenever she finds herself back in Cornwall – whether she’s snapping photos at a wedding or simply visiting as a tourist – she’ll be popping in for a cup of tea and a catch-up. And we’ll definitely be holding her to that! β˜•πŸ“Έβ€οΈ

As our Activities Team moves forward, we’re delighted that Becca and Ciaran will be joining Carrie in the team. We’re looking forward to seeing the three of them working together and can’t wait to see the ideas, creativity and activities they bring to our residents. ❀️

Molly will certainly be missed for her energy, her creativity and, of course, her fantastic photography skills! πŸ“Έ She has captured so many wonderful moments and memories within the home, while bringing plenty of fun and enthusiasm to our residents’ days.

We want to say a huge thank you to Molly for everything she has brought to the home. She will be greatly missed by residents and colleagues alike, and we hope you’ll all join us in wishing Molly and her partner lots of luck, love and happiness as they start their next chapter together. πŸ’β€οΈ

🌟 WE’RE LOOKING FOR NEW IDEAS AT ROSCARRACK! 🌟

We’re always looking for new ways to bring fun, interest and something a little different to our residents’ days – and we’d love some help from our local community! πŸ’›

We’re looking for recommendations for entertainment, activities, speakers and experiences that could come to Roscarrack.

🎭 Entertainers or performers
🌿 Gardening, nature or local interest groups

πŸ“Έ Resident Photoshoot – Part 1 πŸ“Έ

We're delighted to share the first collection of portraits from our recent resident photoshoot.

This project was about so much more than having photographs taken. It was a chance for our residents to express themselves, celebrate who they are, dress up, have fun and let their personalities shine through.

In the days leading up to the shoot, residents explored different ideas, chose outfits, hats and props, and picked their favourite spots in the garden. There was plenty of laughter along the way, and on the day everyone enjoyed stepping in front of the camera to create these wonderful portraits.

A huge thank you to our fantastic Activities Team at Roscarrack for all the planning, organisation and support that made the day possible. A special mention goes to Molly Stacey for capturing these beautiful photographs, and to the local businesses and members of our community who kindly loaned outfits, props and accessories to help make the day extra special.

We hope you enjoy this first collection of portraits as much as we enjoyed creating them. ❀️

πŸ“· Keep an eye on our page for Parts 2 and 3, where we'll be sharing even more of these wonderful photographs.

πŸ“ΈπŸ“πŸ₯‚ Photo Booth Fun at Our Annual Summer BBQ! πŸ₯‚πŸ“πŸ“Έ

Every year, we create new mobile photo booth props to match the theme of our Annual Summer BBQ, giving our residents, families, friends and staff the chance to capture some fun memories together. πŸ“ΈπŸ’œ

This year's props were lovingly made by our wonderful residents and Activities Team, who worked together to bring our Wimbledon theme to life. πŸ“πŸŽΎ

We had two special creations for everyone to enjoy, a giant strawberry, perfectly fitting our Wimbledon theme, and a bottle of 'Roscarrack House Champagne', proudly displaying the year 1995 – the year Mr & Mrs Edwards purchased Roscarrack House and began the journey that has made it the warm, welcoming home it is today. πŸ₯‚πŸ‘

A huge well done to everyone who helped design and create this year's props. We think they looked fantastic, and it was wonderful to see so many smiling faces enjoying them throughout the day!

We hope you enjoy looking through some of our favourite photo booth moments from this year's Annual Summer BBQ. πŸ˜ŠπŸ“Έ

β˜€οΈπŸŽ‰ Thank You for Making Our Annual Summer BBQ Such a Success! πŸŽ‰β˜€οΈ

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Annual Summer BBQ yesterday. This year's Wimbledon theme was a fantastic success, and it was wonderful to see our residents, their families, friends of the home, and staff all coming together for a fun-filled afternoon. πŸŽΎπŸ“

Despite the soaring temperatures, everyone had a brilliant time. Our amazing staff worked tirelessly throughout the day to ensure our residents stayed cool, comfortable, and, most importantly, enjoyed every moment of the celebrations.

Many of our team really embraced this year's theme, arriving dressed to impress in their Wimbledon whites... and one member of staff even came dressed as a tennis ball! 🟒🎾 It certainly brought plenty of smiles and laughter to the day.

We were also treated to entertainment galore throughout the afternoon! 🎢✨ We were delighted to welcome The mischief Falmouth, who had everyone singing along and even encouraged some of our residents and visitors to brave a dance in the sunshine! πŸ’ƒβ˜€οΈ They were followed by a fantastic performance from the ukulele band, keeping the atmosphere lively all afternoon. As if that wasn't enough, we also had a magician making his way around the garden, amazing our residents and guests with some incredible tricks and bringing smiles, laughter, and plenty of wonder wherever he went. πŸͺ„πŸŽ©

As always, our incredible kitchen team put together an amazing BBQ and buffet spread that was enjoyed by everyone, thank you for all your hard work! πŸ”πŸ₯—πŸ“

We are also delighted to announce that, thanks to everyone's generosity, we raised over Β£600 through our amazing raffle, our residents' shop (selling beautiful handmade fairies and mystery book surprises), and our 'In It to Win It' game! πŸŽ‰

Every penny raised will go directly into our Residents' Fund, helping us provide even more activities, entertainment, special events, and outings for those who call Roscarrack House home.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated raffle prizes, purchased tickets, played our games, and supported our fundraising throughout the day. Your generosity will make a real difference to our residents.

We'd also like to extend a special thank you to St Marys Catholic Church Falmouth for once again kindly allowing us to borrow their tables. Your continued support is greatly appreciated and helped make the day run so smoothly.

Finally, thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day so special. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, and we're already looking forward to next year's Annual Summer BBQ! πŸ’œβ˜€οΈ

πŸ“Έ Keep an eye on our page over the next few days as we'll be sharing some more of our favourite photos from the day!
