CUPPING: LET’S TALK FACTS 👇

You’ve probably heard claims that cupping:

❌ “Removes toxins from the body”
❌ “Pulls out bad blood”
❌ “Flushes waste products from your muscles”
❌ “Detoxifies your system”
❌ “Breaks down scar tissue instantly”

The truth?

There is currently no strong scientific evidence that cupping removes toxins or detoxifies the body.

At CHG Sports Therapy, we believe in being honest about what treatments can and can’t do.

What cupping may help with:

✅ Reducing muscle tension and tightness
✅ Increasing local blood flow and circulation
✅ Providing short-term pain relief
✅ Improving relaxation and recovery
✅ Helping athletes and active individuals manage muscle soreness

The circular marks left behind aren’t “toxins leaving the body” – they’re simply a result of the suction effect on the skin and underlying tissues.

We don’t offer cupping because of the myths.

We offer it because many clients enjoy the treatment and some experience genuine benefits for muscle tightness, recovery, and wellbeing.

Running or doing a Hyrox? 🏋🏻‍♀️💪🏼.. don’t neglect these ➡️➡️➡️

My top 6 exercises to stay injury free whilst running or competing in Hyrox; (minimal equipment- minimal excuses)

1. SEBT (star balance excursion test) .. targeting foot, ankle, knee and hip stability through different planes of movement

2. Single leg calf raises - reduce your risk on shin splints, plantar fasciitis and many other foot and ankle related injuries

3. Single leg glute bridges - keep the glutes and hamstrings strong and identify weakness between left and right

4. Banded hip flexion - don’t forget to strengthen your hip flexors through full range of motion… they may feel tight but changes are they are weak! Hyrox is very posterior chain heavy and when the legs are asked to rub when compromised your hip flexor suddenly have to work a lot harder when running fast (make sure they can handle it)

5. Single leg hamstring curls - keep those hamstrings strong through full range

6. Bicep Curls - if everyone is going to take their tops off anyway you may aswell have some biceps 💪🏼😉

If you aren’t doing these.. you may aswell book in now as sooner or later you will suffer 😰
