We started our journey with a fun balloon game to help keep our residents motivated and engaged. 🎈

We finished the day with a lovely birthday celebration, where residents and staff came together to celebrate. 🥳🎂

In between, to keep everyone engaged and on track, we enjoyed a few anti-stress games using our interactive table, followed by a lovely tour of our garden, where we made the most of the beautiful weather. 🌸☀️

A wonderful day filled with fun, laughter, relaxation and togetherness! ❤️

We started with a fun game of Bingo, followed by a relaxing knitting session.

Our Lady of the Week enjoyed having her hair straightened, then thanked the staff with a lovely guitar performance and a beautiful smile. ❤️

A huge congratulations to Shazia, our Employee of the Month for August! 🎉💐

Shazia was proudly voted for by her colleagues, and this recognition is a wonderful reflection of the dedication she brings to Peel House. She is always ready to lend a helping hand, approaches her work with a positive attitude, and consistently gives her very best to support our residents and her team.

Her hard work, reliability, and willingness to help make her a valued member of our Peel House family. We truly appreciate the effort she puts in every day and the difference she makes to those around her. 💛

We started with a fun ball game and Hoopla in our lovely patio, enjoying the beautiful weather. 🌸☀️

We then collected some sunflowers, geraniums and roses from our garden for a lovely gardening session. 🌻🌹

💛 A Heartfelt Thank You to Gill & Hands of Friendship 💛

We would like to say a very special thank you to Gill from the Hands of Friendship Group at Holyrood Church for the most beautiful and thoughtful gifts for our residents. 🌸🧶

Gill and her group have lovingly created treasure bags, knitted blankets, and fiddle blankets, all beautifully handmade with such care and attention to detail. These wonderful items are particularly meaningful for our residents living with dementia, providing comfort, sensory stimulation, familiarity, and something lovely to explore and hold.

It is kindness like this that reminds us how special our wider community is. Every stitch, every detail, and every moment spent creating these beautiful items carries a little piece of love with it; and that love is felt here at Peel House. 🥰

Thank you so much, Gill, and to everyone at Hands of Friendship for your generosity and thoughtfulness. We are incredibly grateful and our hearts are truly warmed by your kindness. ❤️

Our residents had lots of fun with today’s reminiscence activity! ❤️

Each paper had “I was once…” written on one side, while the other side revealed a resident’s previous job.

The challenge was to guess which resident had that job — leading to lots of smiles, surprises, conversations and wonderful memories!

It was lovely hearing about the different careers and experiences our residents had throughout their lives.

Every resident has a story, and today we enjoyed discovering a few more of them!

Our residents enjoyed wonderful live music from the 50s and 60s, bringing back happy memories and lots of smiles. 🎶

We also enjoyed a sensory smelling game, followed by a lovely quiz to finish the day. ❤️

We started our journey with a lovely musical morning, where our residents enjoyed karaoke and singing their favourite songs. 🎶

We finished with a fun riddle game, giving everyone a chance to think and have some fun! 😊
