This beautiful piece of artwork was kindly gifted to us by the wonderful Claire, a former member of the Ashton Manor team and friend of the home. 🖼️

Claire surprised us with this wonderful gift during a recent visit. She had painted this stunning landscape of the Ashton Manor building and gardens on a sunny day, and we absolutely love it. With some exciting changes happening at the home at the moment, it is lovely to have this era of Ashton Manor captured in such a meaningful way.

A huge thank you to Claire for this lovely gift, which we will treasure forever. You are incredibly talented and we are proud to have one of your pieces. 🖌️🎨

We all enjoy a little sweet treat with a cup of tea at Ashton Manor, and we thought it would be fun to get our residents to give us a helping hand to make their own! 🧁

The residents had a great time decorating their cupcakes with icing, sprinkles, and other edible decorations. Their finished cupcakes looked fantastic and were the perfect treat to enjoy alongside their afternoon tea. ☕️🍰

This was a great activity our residents could do independently, and a good opportunity to exercise their motor skills. The residents enjoyed decorating their own cakes and brought back memories of baking cakes for family celebrations. Everyone had a good chat while they enjoyed this calm and fun activity, and of course, our staff were there to lend a hand if needed.

Thank you to everyone who supported Crazy Socks Day at Ashton Manor last month. 🧦

We had some fantastic socks on display courtesy of our residents and staff, which they showed off throughout the day to the delight of everyone at the home. Bright colours, patterns, mismatched and just plain silly, everyone wore their best socks proudly. 😁

Many of our residents really enjoy expressing their creativity and getting involved in arts and crafts. This time, they had a lot of fun using string and different coloured paints to create their own unique abstract paintings. 🎨

They picked their favourite colours and layered up the paint effect, before adding some final embellishments to create their finished piece of artwork. And of course, the artists signed their names to their paintings before they were displayed. 🖌️

It is always fun to find new arts and crafts techniques for our residents to try out, helping them to explore their creativity and maybe discover a new hobby. Our residents were happy to give it a go and get involved, and found it was quite exciting to see how their paintings turned out using a technique they hadn’t tried before.

We find artistic activities like this are a great way to help our residents relax while exercising the creative part of their minds. It is always fantastic to see the different art pieces they each make, but mostly how much they get out of the creative process.

What could be better on a summer Friday afternoon than fish and chips in the sunshine while having a good chat? ☀️🍽️

Join us every Friday at 2pm for a delicious Fish & Chips lunch at Ashton Manor. We would love to get to know members of our local community, welcoming anyone who might be feeling lonely, looking to get out of the house, or just feels like enjoying a delicious lunch with some friendly company.

Open to individuals aged 65 or over. Transport can be arranged; please let us know if you require support with transport. Donations are voluntary. Please make us aware of any allergies and intolerances in advance.

At Beritaz Care, we’re proud to be building a more sustainable future across our homes through our eco-conscious initiatives. 🌱🌍♻️

We have made the switch to reusable everyday items and are working to reduce single‑use plastics in any areas we can, while also introducing energy‑saving upgrades and waste reduction initiatives. Making environmentally friendly decisions has also played a big part in our recent construction plans, particularly within the renovations to Ashton Manor and our brand-new Robertson Nursing Home building.

We are aiming to make thoughtful changes across our homes that support our residents, staff, and the environment, without impacting the quality of care our homes are known for. Our teams have embraced these eco‑conscious initiatives, helping to reduce our carbon footprint while continuing to deliver the high‑quality, compassionate care our residents deserve.

We welcomed some special visitors to Ashton Manor recently who were a big hit with our residents. 🫏

It was so much fun to have these adorable donkeys in the home, and our residents had the biggest smiles on their faces as they came over to say hello. Some of our residents had never met a donkey before, so getting to see them up close was a real treat. The donkeys were very sweet and well-behaved, happy to come up and say hello to everyone and very appreciative of all the attention they received from our residents.

We are lucky to work with some wonderful organisations who offer pet therapy and animal experiences, which are always greatly enjoyed by everyone at the home. Experiences like this one are very meaningful for our residents and often spark memories of happy times spent with animals during their lives.

We loved having the donkeys at the home and are happy to welcome them back to Ashton Manor any time.

Last week, some of our residents enjoyed a trip out to explore Alice Holt Forest. 🌳☀️

We had a great time visiting this wonderful woodland, which we are fortunate to have right on our doorstep. The residents enjoyed a lovely spring walk through the forest, taking in the sights of nature and the peace and quiet of the woodland surroundings.

We had to take the opportunity to pop into the café for a drink and a slice of cake, which we enjoyed outside so we could appreciate the scenery. We were lucky enough to be joined by some of our residents’ relatives, who we are very thankful to for volunteering to come on this outing with us.

It was lovely to spend some time enjoying nature and appreciating this local landmark on such a beautiful sunny day. The residents had a great time and really enjoyed the outing, we can’t wait to go on more trips to explore the local area this summer.
