The living‑legend medium Maureen Flynn has passed away.
Maureen died peacefully in her sleep at Colchester Hospital.
Those who knew Maureen will remember her passion, humour, feistiness and fiery nature — always present with a smile and never short of words. She has been a dear friend of mine for 28 years.
Maureen brought humour and clear evidence from the spirit world, giving proof of communication and reassurance that life continues beyond death. She was known for her accuracy, honesty and sensitivity when working with spirit. Since my very first event in 1999, Maureen attended all my festivals as not just a highly respected medium — simply the best.
She described herself as “Educated by nuns, went to Dominican High School for Girls Colchester, and Guildhall School of Music & Drama.” She had her roots in Scotland and her feet firmly in Colchester. She once said to me, “I am a medium, not a fortune teller!” — a line I will never forget.
Trying to get Maureen to reveal her age was like trying to get blood out of a stone. That was until four years ago, when she invited my partner Chris and me to her… wait for it… 90th birthday party. There I watched her dancing with her beloved grandchildren and great‑grandchildren, smiling wider than ever.
Maureen, you have always been there for me as a dear friend. Now it is time for you to join your beloved husband Roger. You are deeply missed, deeply loved, and forever in my heart — and in the hearts of so many whose lives you touched.
My thoughts are with your family at this difficult time, and like so many others I send healing wishes and love to you all.
Namaste,
